The Experience

Soft hills and lines of poplars bring you to the high, pretty red-brick Georgian house with a smart hornbeam hedge. James, whose art decorates the walls, and Alice look after you impeccably but without fuss. You have a generous sitting room overlooking the garden, with gleaming furniture, early estate and garden etchings, and pastel blue sofas. Peaceful bedrooms are on the second floor and both have charm: soft wool tartan rugs on comfy beds, calming colours, attractive fabrics, restful outlooks. Wake to a delicious full English breakfast; walk it off in open countryside or a day out exploring Stratford.

If you're looking for a peaceful, tranquil and picturesque escape, Stamford Hall is the place to be! My boyfriend and I needed an escape from city life and the dreariness of COVID, and we're so glad to have choose this place. Alice and James are very welcoming and friendly. Their home is big and spacious, with a huge field in their back garden, therefore social distancing is not an issue. Our room was clean and tidy and comfy; and we had some tea and coffee and homemade cookies waiting for us on arrival. In all, a pleasant stay, with Warwick Town Centre and Stratford-upon-Avon nearby.

A great couple of days at Alice and James's fabulous house! A lovely room with country views to relax in, cake and tea in the garden when you arrive and a hearty breakfast to set you up for the day. Friendly hosts, terrific food and the location is spot on for the Cotswolds and Stratford :)

We loved staying here. Alice was the perfect hostess, from the lift to the local pub for dinner to the absolutely delicious food. We received a really warm welcome, with lovely lemon cake and a cuppa. Our room was great - really cosy, clean and relaxing with fabulous views. Breakfast was delicious - I even convinced Alice to sell me a tub of the compote it was so nice! A lovely setting, a home from home experience and a smashing host. Thoroughly recommended :-)

We enjoyed our stay very, very much! Alice and James made our stay wonderful! The very cosy room and breakfast were great, but the quiet and lovely surroundings of the house, particular in the evening, will make sure that you come to a full rest! We even saw a barn owl! James is a professional photographer and has published several awesome illustrated books. If you yourself are taking pictures (which are great, as you like to think), his photos make you very humble….Please go over there and enjoy Upton House, Baddesley Clinton and the extremely beautiful Gardens of Hidcote! Thanks!

We stayed at Stamford Hall whilst attending 'The Game Fair'. Alice and James welcomed us to their beautiful home and shortly after arriving, had our choice of tea and lemon drizzle cake in the lavender garden. We stayed in the en-suite with a mesmorising views over the countryside. Breakfast was delightful served with home made preserves. Stamford Hall is the perfect location from which to visit the Cotswolds and Statford Upon Avon and the restaurant recommendations from their website, were very good. A lovely touch was to find our bottle of wine in Alice's fridge one evening.

We stayed at Stamford Hall recently on a short visit to the area . Alice welcomed us with tea and ginger cake in the garden as it was a lovely day . Our room was situated at the top of the house which enabled us to see lovely views of the surrounding countryside and was very comfortable . A lovely cooked English breakfast with lots of home made jams and marmalade was much appreciated . We really enjoyed our visit .

Alice and James are wonderful hosts. Knew from the email correspondence that they were professional hosts. We were greeted by a warm welcome followed by tea and homemade cake in their beautiful lounge. Spacious bedroom (top floor - a few stairs) was delightful - shabby sheek. Very comfortable bed, incredibly powerful shower, and great views of surrounding countryside. above average pub in nearby village and a fabulous breakfast served in a beautiful dining room. 15 mins from J11 of M6 and easy access to Stratford or Warwick. Nothing was to much trouble - highly recommended.

The four of us were warmly welcomed by Alice - and it was delightful to have afternoon tea with delicious home made apple cake in the beautiful garden. We liked our adjoining en-suite rooms in the attic, and the cooked breakfast on Sunday morning with home made jams and fruit compote was delicious. Have already recommended this lovely B&B to neighbours & friends and plan to return ourselves.

James &Alice were very warm and hospitable. The room & facilities were very clean and well appointed, and the beds were very comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay and intend to make a return visit. I thoroughly recommend this b&b.

Alice and James were very welcoming and friendly. The room and en suite bathroom were spacious and comfortable with a lovely view over the fields. The breakfast was splendid and I really enjoyed the compote and home produced honey. James and Alice were fascinating hosts and we had interests in common. When we returned from our day out Alice gave us plates and cutlery for our room picnic. They are knowledgeable about the local area and gave us good recommendations, including where to go to mass. We really want to pay them a return visit. The location is beautifully quiet. A real get away.

This is a really welcoming and comfortable place to stay. We really enjoyed sitting in the garden with a cup of earl grey and slice of homemade lemon drizzle cake after a long journey. It is not far into Stratford Upon Avon by car and there is plenty of parking there. The room was really comfortable and peaceful and we had a really good night's sleep. The cooked breakfast was delicious. Thank you Alice and James.

What a delightful, peaceful place to stay! James & Alice were so kind and such generous hosts. We were welcomed with a pot of tea and delicious lime drizzle cake, thank you Alice! Our room was spacious, quiet and immaculately clean. A wonderful breakfast to start our days. James & Alice recommended places to visit locally which helped us make the most of our stay. Thank you both for looking after us so well. We left many places still to visit, so we will be returning as soon as possible.

Alice and James were wonderful hosts. They were very welcoming. The room was clean and beautifully decorated. We had an incredible cooked breakfast in the morning. Only 20 minutes from Stratford, it was a perfect location for us to do a countryside walk (Alice's recommended 4 mile round walk was delightful) as well as explore everything Stratford has to offer. I would highly recommend the b&b and we will be back!
