Lovely character house in a quiet location and very caring hosts

Stuart, London

Di and Will were the most hospitable of hosts. Lovely, spacious and comfortable bedrooms plus use of a large living room with log stove. Fresh cake from Di on both days. Great breakfast. Very knowledgeable about the area. You can walk to Dinton Park from the house. All in all one of the best B&B's we have been to, full stop.

Geoff, London

A very warm welcome. The bedroom was very attractive with a comfortable bed, the bath/shower room was spacious and gleaming. The sitting room was delightful, comfy sofas and wonderful views. Di & Willi were very friendly and full of ideas about places to visit. Breakfasts were delicious, fresh fruit and yogurt, cereals, full English, toast, croissants/hot cross buns serves in the pleasant dining room. We would definitely go there again.

Tony, Berkhamsted

a delightful setting, very comfortable and welcoming

Daughter and family and us,the grandparents, had the 3 rooms at DOWTYS to ourselves which was extremely pleasant. The house is a farm restored to a high spec. Guests have lovely spacious sitting and dining room to themselves with glorious views over tranquil and beautiful countryside and well stocked, well loved, interesting garden - one feature is a mature lime pergola. Afternoon tea in a quiet corner of the garden on arrival while the children worked off their car-bound energy on the trampoline and paddock, and scrummy breakfast. Plethora of info from Di about activities in the area.

Wonderful house and location. The room and other facilities were very pleasant and comfortable. The hosts seemed pleased to make our stay as enjoyable as possible.

Wonderful rural location, very warm welcome, spacious and comfortable accommodation

Patrick, Chipping ongar, essex

We had a delightful stay at Dowtys. DIane and Willi made us feel most welcome. The beds were really comfy, the room was large and airy and the view peaceful. We were greeted with delicious home made jam tarts and tea and the breakfast was tasty. We loved exploring the atmospheric bluebell wood up the hill behind the house. HIghly recommended.

Sue, Cambridge

We have just spent a most enjoyable night at Dowty's. Our host and hostess were very hospitable and we were extremely impressed with their home.

Set in a beautiful garden the guest accommodation is equally impressive. Views from the Garden Room across the grounds and beyond are stunning. The comfortable private sitting room has floor to ceiling sliding windows which can be pulled back on a warm day. Access to the large and tastefully furnished shared sitting room is from the Garden Room bedroom. Hosts Di and Willi are really welcoming, helping with local information, suggestions for places to visit and routes to take. Having enjoyed many Sawday recommended B&Bs, we rate Dowtys as a special favourite.
