Braecote

Great cottage. We had a wonderful 4 day break. The cottage has been splendidly refurbished to very high standards, spotlessly clean, big fluffy towels, a very well equipped kitchen with quality utensils, comfortable living room with 2 quality sofa’s, and large king size bed with fluffy pillows. First class. We hope to go back in either the autumn or winter. We spent our time cycling the local roads and the nearby cycling tracks at Sutton Bank National Park Centre. The local pub served a good choice of beers and the food was excellent.

I spent 3 nights at Braecote and they were wonderful. The owner's care and consideration to ensure that her guests have a pleasant experience is superb. I can't find enough superlatives to describe this property. Not only is every room equipped with everything you might need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay, but Sarah also adds lovely touches such as a welcome vase of flowers, and gifts of goodies including apple juice and biscuits. Coxwold is an excellent base for exploring the North York Moors and environs. I hope that I shall return for an inspirational stay.

We had a wonderful week-long stay at Braecote. It's a beautiful cottage in a lovely village, with a good pub just a short stroll away. Sarah is a very helpful host, leaving essentials such as milk and tea, along with some non-essential goodies! We would happily stay again; highly recommended.

Braecote is perfectly situated for walking in this stunningly beautiful part of Yorkshire. There are many circular walks, from short strolls to all day hikes without having to use your car. Being just 2 or 3 miles from the Michelin starred Black Swan is another good reason to choose Braecote. The cottage is well equipped, spacious for two people and good value for money. My wife and I would highly recommend a few nights in Braecote.

We booked for a week in Braecote last week, and were delighted to find an extremely well equipped and tastefully appointed cottage in the heart of a very pretty village. Sarah and Ian had even left coffee/tea, eggs, a beer, local apple juice.. Coming from London we needed to relax and much enjoyed exploring the local area, as well as walks further afield. Great pub across the road. Highly recommended.

Braecote is the perfect country cottage. It is stylish, immaculate, especially cosy with the wood burner, has a well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed and beautiful linen, and a lovely sunny garden. We have just returned from our seventh visit and look forward to going back again in the spring. It really is a joy to stay there where we feel totally at peace, can unwind, read, potter, walk the surrounding lanes, cook for ourselves or eat out in one of the many great pubs and restaurants roundabout, and visit any number of interesting towns and villages in that lovely part of North Yorkshire

We thoroughly enjoyed our few days in this immaculate and very comfortable cottage. Coxwold is an ideal base for exploring the North Yorkshire Moors National Park and the highlight of our stay was a walk from Helmsley to the spectacular ruins of Rievaulx Abbey. We are looking forward to returning to explore further.

A delightful cottage, very well appointed and ideal for a quiet break. Wish we could have stayed longer - for ever?! And it's so convenient for the Black Swan at Oldstead!

Lovely accommodation and a first class base from which to explore everything North Yorkshire has to offer. Sarah has thought of everything in the cottage and the place is immaculate. We thoroughly recommend this gem.

Braecote was the perfect cottage for a weekend break. Comfortable and cosy, stylish and well equipped it was a great place for exploring the area with the Fauconberg Arms just across the road for good food and a friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Braecote was one of the very best we have stayed in. So clean and well furnished that we felt as if we were the first guests. And Sarah had thought of everything we might need including a welcome pack and some logs for the stove. Our only small suggestion is that an extra light in the living room would have made it easier to read without having to put the main light on. Good bar food and a warm welcome at the Fauconberg Arms across the road.

Love love loved this little bolt hole! We had a gorgeous 3 days in a beautifully detailed cottage. We were inspired to cook, walk, read in front of the fire, walk to the lovely local pub where we made instant friends. The bed was comfy (so important) and the kitchen perfectly equipped for what we needed. This is certainly a place to go to recoup yourself.

Pretty cottage situated in a lovely Yorkshire village within striking distance of York. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and fitted out with everything you need. Tastefully furnished. It looked well loved and cared for!

We had 14 beautiful days in Yorkshire in a lovely and cosy holiday cottage. We really can commend Breacote. The house is equipped with all you need for a pleasant stay. We felt like home there. PS. Thanks a lot for the warm welcome, especially the sweet smelling flowers

Braecote is a perfect cottage to unwind in - simple yet stylish, comfortable, very well equipped with enormous care and attention to detail put into it by the owners. A lovely sunny garden for al fresco dining and a cosy woodburner for relaxing evenings. Interesting artwork, maps, guide books, good novels and a great kitchen to cook and eat in. There are lovely walks from the door, lots of interesting places to visit nearby and no shortage of excellent cafes and restaurants in the area. A perfectly beautiful cottage and location and a perfect holiday. We look forward to going back there.

We couldn't fault this cottage. Very comfortable and it was clear that a lot of thought had gone into making it an easy place to while away a few days in peace. Decor spotless and facilities excellent. I have already recommended the cottage and Sawday's (who we hadn't used before) to friends.

Having just spent 5 nights at his delightful cottage I would not hesitate to reccomend it. The owners have thought of everything and the cottage is beautifully equipped. From top quality bedding and towels through to even leaving the wood burner prepared and ready to light, this cottage is charming, cosy and comfortable. All the fixtures and fittings are good quality and the place was immaculate and very warm. I can't wait to go back!

We have just come back from a 3 night stay in this wonderful little cottage. The owners, Sarah and Ian Harper, have clearly spent a lot of time decorating this cottage to make it homely and the little touches that they have added made our stay all the more enjoyable. My wife and I have just returned from the most wonderful weeks holiday at "Braecote cottage" in Coxwold N. Yorkshire owned by the most obliging & accommodating couple of Sarah & Ian Harper. Firstly let me tell you about the spotlessly clean Cottage, it is truly a home away from home, decorated with very comfortable high end furnishings and fitted out with every conceivable appliance you will need for a self catering stay. In the village there is a great Pub, lovely Tea rooms manicured gardens and some of the nicest people in the UK, add this all together and you have one beautiful destination
