The
Experience

Peace has returned to sleepy Felixkirk following a dramatic transformation by Provenance Inns. They have worked hard to create one rather stylish country inn, keeping period detail in the traditional bar whilst adding a decked terrace and eight garden suites. Built into the hillside below the church, set around a landscaped garden, these stunningly swish rooms have private patios and picture windows for a view that stretches across the Vale of Mowbray to the Dales. Inside are sweeping floors, gas fires and honesty bars, big beds topped with duckdown and bathrooms with toasty floors. Back in the pub, stone floors, wonky beams, open fires, scarlet walls and comfy old furniture – an inviting backdrop for tasty food. Try scallops with garlic and parsley butter; pork fillet wrapped in Serrano ham with apple mash and mustard sauce; rib-eye steak with dauphinoise potatoes and Madeira jus. There’s a cracking wine list, an intimate private dining room, and the staff are local and lovely. Fabulous moorland walking, too; bring the boots.
