A single track runs down to this mellow stone farmhouse, which has been in the family for hundreds of years. You stay in the Hayloft at the far end: stone floors heated underfoot, old beams, sofas by the wood-burner, modern kitchen and your own charming walled garden. Up the curved stairs to the mezzanine bedroom with its vintage quilt on a cast-iron bed, and bathroom with free-standing bath and monsoon shower. Fiona leaves you a first-morning breakfast hamper of local produce and vouchers for fantastic cooked breakfasts in the village’s Old School Café. The garden gate leads onto a footpath; Hebden, with café and pub, is a short walk.
