The Experience
Let energetic Paul arrange everything while you completely unbend. Chefs can rustle up meals in the sleek kitchen or fill the fridge with delicious treats; oysters can be ready for your arrival; housekeepers can magically clean and tidy. If you want recommendations for the best places to eat or visit then your hosts have ideas galore.
The ground floor is a pleasure to spend time in: relax in the drawing room (no TV in here) after supper; mix aperitifs in the library bar; snuggle up in the media room in front of a film on a rainy day. Upstairs big, calming bedrooms have views over the garden or to Arthur’s Seat. Two have claw-foot baths, the rest have walk-in power showers, all have underfloor heating and White Company smellies.
The walled garden has a tropical feel; eat under the covered terrace, burn off some calories in the gym (disguised as a summer house) and spend an evening under the stars beside the outdoor wood-burner.

Location
The neighbourhood
You're a 25-minute walk to Princes Street, one of Edinburgh's main bustling thoroughfares. Escape the crowds to seek out Princes Street Gardens - it's an important urban park with 37 acres, beautiful year round, that separates the Old Town from the New Town. Log into the house iPad for eating recommendations within a ten-minute stroll; you can walk to much, hop on a tram or catch an Uber.
Introducing
John MacEwan & Paul Lightfoot
John and Paul have relaunched 94DR as a self-catering house after running it as a successful B&B since 2007. Now you get the best of both worlds: your hosts experience in looking after guests and the run of a stunning house. Nothing is too much trouble to organise: chefs, housekeepers, restaurant bookings, itineraries, shopping, sport, wellness, wine tastings. Everything is possible!
This is a chic and distinctive place to meet up with friends and family away from the hustle and bustle of tourist hotspots. Relax and enjoy the house as a contemporary and stylish home in the city or make your stay even more special by leaving Paul and John to cook up the most delicious meals for you, or organise unique outings and experiences tailored to your wants.
