The Experience

Although train and bus stations and airport trams are a mere  hop, skip and jump away, you’ll find Geraldsplace a welcoming haven in the quiet elegance of Edinburgh’s Georgian New Town. Gerald’s patio basement flat is full of character, comfort and colour. Bedrooms have Vi-Spring beds, excellent art and special extras: DVDs and a book swap shelf, very fast broadband, a tea/coffee tray, a decanter of special 16-year whisky. Breakfast is a feast and mostly organic. There’s a private garden opposite, an incredibly convenient location and, of course, Gerald, your enthusiastic, brilliantly well-informed, up-to-the-minute host.

My boyfriend and I had the most incredible weekend in Edinburgh - made perfectly wonderful by Gerald, who could not have been more kind, welcoming and generous, and a true delight to sit and chat to. We will definitely stay here when we visit again. The room was so comfortable, with everything we could have needed and much more. The house was lovely, excellent location. The breakfasts fantastic! But Gerald himself was the star. Thank you!

Gerald, our hospitable and charming host at this delightful & very well located B&B was a mine of information and a huge help in making our stay in wonderful Edinburgh even better than we could have hoped. The room is quite small and cosy but very comfortable. His breakfasts were superb. All in all a great place to stay.
