The Experience

Come to immerse yourself in the superb scenery of the West Coast of Scotland. There’s a Munro for the bagging just behind the village and fabulous coastal walks; you’d be unlucky not to see gannets and guillemots, deer and seals. You may even see golden eagles, dolphins and otters. Hole-up in this comfortably restored old farmhouse and feast on the views of Loch Hourn and the Isle of Skye, which fill the front windows. Downstairs you’ve a practical open plan kitchen/dining area with pine table and chairs; through the hallway a traditional sitting room – upholstered armchairs around a stone-surround open fire – and off it a twin-bedded room. There’s a door in from the small, enclosed garden (handy for dogs) at the back, a utility room and a bathroom with a big, satisfying, soaking tub and separate shower. Upstairs: the other twin room and the double are peaceful, carpeted and cosy under the eaves. People sleep deeply here, on good, well-dressed beds and book year to year; it’s such a great, relaxing getaway for lovers of splendid seclusion, with good access to Skye. Do ask about hill loch and sea fishing.
