The air is pure, the living is easy, and the farm track winds up to spectacular views. Built in 2011, the cottage is a renovated stone barn with wooden extension, an exciting fusion of old and new, a place for lovers of peace and beauty. Outside is a garden bordered by a burn and with a sauna and outside shower for the brave! Inside is flooded with light from floor-to-ceiling windows that pull in the views – which are magical whatever the weather. Pale floors, ivory walls and white beams create a crisp modern backdrop for interesting old prints and oriental watercolours, books, games and sofas, and a roaring wood-burner for winter. Up three steps are bedrooms lofty and bright, with carpeted floors and colourful bedspreads, and sky lights for star gazing at night. It’s remote – three miles to the pub, five to Aberfeldy (shops, cafes, cinema) but not that remote, with the friendly Pearce family the other side of the track. Discover theatre in Pitlochry, watersports on Loch Tay, rare orchids in the meadow, and all those glorious glens.
