Their dedication to all that is best about Wales shines forth. Gaze on harbour lights as you feast on fresh hake with a basil beurre blanc

Read guest comments

Lobster boats at lunch, twinkling harbour lights at dinner, real ale, well-chosen wines, dazzling service. The old harbourmaster's residence has become decidedly chic with an inspirational restaurant and bar. Step in to find a space that's cosy but cool: soft shades, zinc-topped tables. In the celebrated bistro, daily menus are studded with the best local produce and the dishes delight: roast Blaencamel Farm beetroot with honeycomb and feta; Carlingford oysters; fillet of cod, samphire, chard, cockles and tomato; thyme roast peach with Glyn Aeron honey ice cream. In the bar (open for breakfast from 8am) tuck into local crab, chilli and garlic linguine, Welsh rib-eye steak or a stone-baked pizza. The Heulyns' dedication to all that is best about Wales shines forth. Cycle tracks spin off into the hills, coastal paths lead north and south.

"We have just had a superb few days at The Harbourmaster. We received the best of attention from excellent, well trained, friendly staff. Not to mention the wonderful food. We shall certainly be back."

"We have stayed here twice now: once in the cottage and this year in a room in the main building. We had a wonderful time, very friendly staff and amazing views of the harbour from our bedroom window The food is something special - breakfasts are enormous and we highly reommend the welsh beef for two at dinner. We are going again next spring! L and M Franklin"
