A designer B&B with lovely rooms, attractive prices and some seriously fancy bathrooms. The house stands high on the hill, away from the crowds, a short stroll from the buzz of town and its two-mile beach. This is a 19th-century mill owner’s villa and its fine old windows, sparkling wood floors and carved fireplace bear testament to its Victorian roots. Other than that it’s a clean sweep of funky interiors. Sam and Gaenor scoured Europe for their eclectic collection of colourful retro furniture that fills the rooms – orange swivel chairs, iconic G-plan sofas, beautiful beds wrapped in crisp white linen. You’ll find cow-hide rugs, funky wallpapers, big views from rooms at the front. All come with flat-screen TVs, Blu-ray DVD players and iPod docks. Bathrooms are excellent: one room has a shower for two, another has a copper bath in the room. Downstairs, there’s an honesty bar in the sitting room, while delicious breakfasts are served in an attractive dining room. Good food waits in town – the Seahorse for fish, Mamma Rosa for Italian. Great Orme waits above for big views of the bay.
