On a peaceful and pretty tidal river creek between Narberth and Tenby, this Georgian Quay Master’s house is heaven for walkers, bird watchers and lovers of a good pub – there’s one just down the road. Guests have a separate entrance to cosy, modern-rustic style, third-floor rooms: Welsh blankets, good white linen, pristine stone-tiled bathrooms, sofas, DVDs, coffee machines, a shared fridge. Philip and Rhian’s love of art is evident (as is their friendly, lively lurcher!); they make jams and bread for relaxed, full-Welsh breakfasts and happily advise on what to do. An easy-going place – great nearby beaches too.

We stayed here for 2 nights and were so impressed we felt we wanted to write to the Guide. We'd booked both their rooms for 2 nights, but because of a dreadful forecast rang to see if we could change our booking to 2 days later "Philip's reply: "no problem - you'd be mad to come today, it's torrential rain!" Philip & Rhian could not have been more welcoming & friendly going the extra mile with info about what to see & do locally. Both rooms perfect, lovely outlook, wonderfully original breakfast room (and breakfast). The icing on the cake: their lurcher with her 5-day old puppies!
