A friendly bolthole for 2 in the National Park - a surfers' and walkers' paradise. Make friends with the family's hens and horses...

Surfers and walkers rejoice: Pembrokeshire's loveliest beaches are a stone's skim away, and your converted barn sits in two acres of national park. It's a charming space for two – bantams and guinea fowl chatter in the grounds, and there are dogs, horses and views over fields. Up stone steps and inside is cosy, with beams and Persian-style rugs on wooden floors. In one corner of the living/dining space there's a neat kitchen and an oak table by the rose-clad window. The bedroom has white painted wood and a great big bed, its blue and white theme matched in the bathroom next door; soak in a deep tub tucked behind glazed sliding doors. History buffs will love the castles and archaeological sites nearby, and there's an annual festival and theatre in sleepy Pembroke. Find plenty of room under the coach house to store bikes and kayaks, and your own little walled garden (converted from a piggery) round the back for barbecues; the nearby army range can be heard sometimes. Nicky and family are in their 16th-century farmhouse next door and will happily point you to good places to eat, gorgeous beaches and cliff walks.

Guest feedback
"We had a fabulous time in this beautifully converted barn. Terrifically comfortable bed, large bathroom with country views, all the casual comfort that makes a holiday truly relaxing, and marvellous hosts who could not have been more helpful. A great place to hide out in for a stress-free break."
