The Stable

Return from Freshwater West or Barafundle to your lovely little garden. Pick herbs for dinner, cosy up by the wood-burner

Welcome to an immaculate renovation in a lovely valley setting: a stable, carthouse and tackroom woven into one. After years running B&B, Ann has hung up her apron and started her new enterprise. From the farmhouse next door, she meets and greets on arrival, gives you eggs from the hens, logs for the wood-burner, then leaves you in peace. Inside is spacious, new, pristine and furnished in uncluttered country style. Downstairs are new slate floors warm and toasty, a kitchen gleaming with equipment and perfect white china, a suave three-piece suite by the wood-burner, and a round dining table for four, all put together with immense attention to detail. Up the carpeted oak stair, under the roof, is one lofty bedroom; the other bedroom is downstairs. Swish bathrooms are stocked with bath oils and snowy towels. There are stunning beaches at Broad Haven, Freshwater West and Barafundle; Pembroke (castle, pubs, small shops and farmers’ market) is half a mile. Hang your wet togs in the utility room, pick herbs from the courtyard for dinner, take a drink to your generous patch of Ann’s beautifully tended Jekyll-esque garden.
