The
Experience
You’re in the oldest part of the house and your bedroom used to be the dairy – the thick and ancient beams above you still have their original kitchen hooks. On dank or rainy days with the wood piled high by the burner, soft sofas, books and games, it will be a nice feeling to be indoors here. The wildlife is bountiful, deep in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park – not only birds but foxes, badgers and otters too. Daniel and Jemma are creating a wildlife meadow which you can see from your sitting room.Join the rugged coastal path which explodes with wild flowers in spring, drive to Newport (five minutes) for a wonderful wide beach with estuary and good food shops. If you don’t want to cook, then walk down to the Salutation Inn in the village or drive to The Old Sailors in Dinas Cross for lobster and fresh fish caught in the bay. The night skies are star-filled when there’s no cloud and owls will hoot you to sleep.

Thank you very much for a lovely stay! We had a great time exploring the area (lots of stone circles/chambers and lots of pizza!) and it was so nice to return back to such a welcoming little bolt hole each evening. We love the peace here and the views and the wildlife. Thanks again! Natasha and David. PS. great film collection too!

The Tudor Kitchen is a delightful little cottage in peaceful surroundings in the national park. Daniel and Jemma are warm and welcoming hosts who are happy to help with local info. We're pretty fussy and we found the cottage to be impeccable - It is well proportioned, clean and tidy with everything you need for a pleasant stay. The Pentre Ifan megalithic stones are to be found after a walk through ancient woods close by. Characterful Newport is a few minutes drive away with pubs, restaurants and a beautiful beach. If you enjoy a quiet stay then The Tudor Kitchen will be perfect for you.

Location
The neighbourhood
The little village of Felindre Farchog is a short walk and has the one pub. Newport is a five-minute drive and truly is a special place as it’s totally unspoilt but has good independent shops including a fishmonger and butcher. Wood-fired pizza too. Dramatic Ceibwr Bay and beach is a 15-minute drive and Fishguard and Cardigan about 25 minutes each. St Davids has a wonderful cathedral and you can take whale watching trips from there.
Local points of interest from Daniel & Jemma Slade-Davies
- The Tudor Kitchen is part of an historic North Pembrokeshire Farm that dates as far back as the 12th Century, with the current house being from the 14th Century. We offer 10% off for single person occupancy.
- Walk in the Preseli Hills or along the famous Pembrokeshire Coast, part of the National Park and area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. On rainy days curl up with a good book by the enormous log burner that is a feature of the studio.
- Local Breweries can be walked to from the door, the popular Seaside village of Newport with its trendy shops and cafes is only a 5min drive away. The Pentre Ifan Neolithic burial Chamber is only a short walk away.
- Our house and gardens are being restored bit by bit, help us by giving us some inspiration during your stay.
- Our house is surrounded by Ancient woodland across the valley. Pengelli forest and the Castell Henllys Iron Age fort 'living' Museum only across the valley. We are ideally suited to explore the hidden coves and beaches of North Pembrokeshire.
- If you are looking to elope in the simplest form... then we can offer you a wedding for £590 in our licsensed hall Just ask us for more info.

Introducing
Daniel & Jemma Slade-Davies
Daniel, who grew up here, is a professional cellist who arranges master classes each summer that culminate in a concert in their own music hall. Jemma is a goldsmith and they live here with their young children, Taran the old horse and a huge white cat called Parsnip (who prefers men).
I loved my stay in the Tudor Kitchen, it feels like a little safe haven in a hectic world. Daniel and Jemma are delightful hosts who have put great thought into every detail. It is the perfect size for a solo traveler, with everything required to cook modest meals. The log burning stove is a wonderful way to get cosy on an Autumn evening. And even the view over a field with their 25-year-old Anglo Arab horse is a relaxing way to while away the time. There are plenty of wild and off the beaten track places to visit nearby, an excellent way to get that fresh Welsh air into the lungs!
