The Experience
You’re down a track and through a gate so children can romp safely. They’ll have total freedom to go exploring, make dens and paddle. Adults can unwind in the huge sitting room, helping themselves to plenty of logs for the wood-burner, or seek some peace in the little snug with a TV and many books. Enjoy drinks in the covered shack or play games, darts and practise your karaoke in the drinks cabin.
Much thought has gone into making this the perfect house for a holiday: two kitchens – so if you want to bring caterers they can have their own – plenty of room to cook sociably and large tables inside and out for convivial meals. You’ll also find a welcome hamper waiting for you and locally-sourced bath products. Outside find a hot tub, firepits for starry nights and an enchanting Japanese garden.
This is stunning countryside: climb the big hill behind you for views to the Brecon Beacons; buzzards and red kites soar overhead. You’ll feel lucky to be here.

Location
The neighbourhood
This is grand walking and cycling country and you're unlikely to run into others so vast is your playground - including the mighty Brecon Beacons. The Wye is one of the best fishing rivers in the UK. Builth Wells is 15 minutes for basic shopping, Radnor is 15 minutes for a superb pub, Hay-on-Wye is 25 minutes for books galore and some quirky cafes and shops. But this is a place for staying in and relishing your surroundings.
Local points of interest from Nisha Collard
- Wonderful walks can be found from the doorstep and OS maps are available to borrow. Mid Wales also offers endless walking opportunities such as the Wye Valley Walk, Offas Dyke Path, the Brecon Beacons, Black Mountains and the Elan Valley.
- Hay on Wye is a historic market town renowned for being the Book Capital of Britain. The high street is littered with book stores and many quirky independent shops. Nearby Builth Wells also hosts the largest agricultural show in Europe.
- Bridle paths criss-crossing the surrounding hills are perfect for cycling, as well as leafy country lanes. Kayaking and canoeing down the Wye River are also popular, and country activities can be arranged at the House.
- There are some of the best fishing in the area around the Wye, which depending on the catch can be all year round. Catches includes salmon, trout and grayling. Lunches can also be organised on your fishing day out.
- Beautiful wild horses can often be found on the hills behind the house, and bridle paths abound. There is a local horseriding school to take you out on the hills to enjoy the views. If you are interested in stabling, please do enquire.
- The house is within easy access to the The Brecon Beacons to the south, home to spectacular waterfalls and a huge range of wildlife, and to the Cambrian Mountains to the east, an off the beaten track of wild spectacular desert of hills, mountains & lakes.

Introducing
Nisha Collard
Nisha and David bought this lovely house because they are passionate about walking and fell in love with the area. They live in London and come down as often as they can. As soon as you walk in you'll realise they are also passionate about interiors, books, art and furniture and they are great collectors. They hope you love staying here as much as they do.
A gorgeous place indoors and out for having fun with family or friends. Even if you're in a not very sociable mood there's masses of space to hide from others and tons of books to choose if you need an escape. Children will have free range fun, parents can relax knowing there are no cars, walkers will be out the whole day.
