They live on the canal and own a canoe: hire it for the day and pootle down to the pub, or walk your socks off in the Brecon Beacons. Friendly, generous Rachel and Sid swapped London for Llanfrynach and have breathed new life into the old farmhouse and outbuildings. Bedrooms are ultra comfy (those at the top with vaulted beams), bathrooms are spotless, views are gorgeous. The Taff Trail meets the tow path at the bottom of the garden, there’s a tip-top boot dryer for when you get back, and you wake to feasts of local and Fair Trade produce, brought to small tables with a lovely big smile.

  • Climb Pen-y-fan; The second highest mountain in the south of Britain . Get up there. You can see it from the Farmhouse. If that's too high, go for a stroll on the canal tow path outside our front door....there are no excuses now!
  • Waterfalls; The main area is Ystradfellte which is known as waterfall country, however there are smaller local waterfalls dotted all over the park. The famous Henrhyd waterfall is 27 metres high.
  • The National Show Caves; Has three caves to be explored, the Dan yr Ogof, the Cathedral Showcave and the Bone Cave. All are spectacular.
  • Bleanavon Ironworks and The Big Pit Mining Museum; This is a world heritage site and its FREE
  • Carreg Cennen Castle; This is probably the most photographed castle on the planet, and you can see why. It perched on a breath taking cliff and has been bracing the elements for 700 years.
  • Don't for get to try some real ale in the local pubs and perhaps a day trip to Hay-on-Wye, globally know for its wonderful book shops.

"This stunning farmhouse more than lived up to its description. It was immaculately clean and the breakfast would keep you going all day whilst on one of the many walks from the house. Rachel was a delight and had put a basket of places to visit in the room."
