The
Experience

In rural Dordogne, home to humanity for millennia, make this elegant old manor yours for a week or more; bring friends and family, it has bags of space in its contemporary/period rooms. The manicured garden and heated pool are huge, too. Cradled by an unostentatiously smart interior in calm colours and pleasing textures, settle down peacefully by the wood-burner in the big sitting room (the gigantic TV has its own corner and sofas) or in the garden. Dine in style in the colonnaded dining room, all white and wood, mirrors and glass, on dishes you’ve prepared in the amazingly well-equipped stainless steel kitchen – or take a 5-minute stroll to a great restaurant, The Black Duck. Upstairs bedrooms have blissfully comfortable new bedding, fine bathrooms, canvasses from Kerry’s photographs of Monet’s garden – they used to live near Giverny – and original paintings of this area. The biggest and best room even has its own terrace. Kerry and Thomas will lay on a light supper for your arrival and the next day’s breakfast. A dynamic, cosmopolitan couple, they live next door and are always willing to help and advise.

Reviews

Outstanding accomodation, gorgeous breakfast, very friendly hosts. Guarantee of good swimming due to pool heating Pool drinks priced lower than supermarket. Just one thing missing to reach perfection: a night light in the room. Quality/price ratio : excellent

Les Charmes was wonderful from the moment we drove down the drive and through the gates. We had booked Les Charmes for two weeks for a three generation family holiday consisting of six adults and six children. There was plenty of room for us all and the rooms were very luxurious with the air conditioning being much appreciated . The large private pool and spacious garden areas meant that the family could enjoy not only swimming but play football , cricket and table tennis! Owners very helpful, excellent facilities and very generous welcome pack.

From the minute we drove through the gate, we were impressed. Situated in a sleepy little hamlet about 20 minutes north of Sarlat, Les Charmes positively glowed in the sunshine. Kerry was there to greet us and we soon met Tomas and their daughter Evie. They are a really lovely family and perfect hosts. Always on hand for help and advice but never intrusive, in fact, it was always a pleasure to see them. We had the whole house as a family of 11 and the space was fantastic. It has 6 beautiful bedrooms, all very light and airy, with a modern French theme. The kitchen is incredibly well equipped

This lovely B&B does everything right!. The room we were in was very large with high quality bedding and linen. The well equipped bathroom had plenty of space to put your "stuff" and had good lighting. The room had a well stocked coffee and tea area – critical! The view of the surrounding countryside was stunning. It is located in such a prime area that we could easily make day trips, and canoeing on the Dordogne was the highlight, along with a visit to Sarlat and Berge. The owners, Tomas and Kerry, were very helpful and friendly, able to recommend local restaurants – the Black Duck is a must

Kerry and Tomas made us feel so welcome in their beautiful Manor House. The rooms were very clean and the beds very comfortable. Tomas's breakfast was delicious!! There is plenty to do in the area, no matter what the weather. We loved visiting the nearby Lascaux caves with the kids. We will definitely return. Thanks Kerry & Tomas!

We came to Les Charmes for a girls relaxing break and couldn't have had a nicer time, we relaxed by the pool, canoed on the Dordogne eat wonderful locally sourced produce at local restaurants recommended by our knowledgeable and attentive hosts, Kerry and Thomas. We slept well in large comfy beds, with equally spacious bathroom. All the little details to make your stay great had been thought of, from tea and coffee in the room, to toiletries in the bathroom, drinks in the fridge by the pool and of course a delicious breakfast to start the day. Can't wait to return. Thankyou.
