This is a grown up sort of place and Florence and Christophe give you a special stay. Christophe likes variety, no two breakfasts are the same. One day, ris au lait; the next crème aux oeufs, but always jam, bread, biscotti, yogurt – all homemade of course and delivered to your room if you want.
Bedrooms are a study in serenity, with beds layered in Caravane linens, antique chairs and most with a private balcony or patio with front-row seats to the dawn chorus; just add an infusion from the tea tray and slip on the linen bathrobe and felt slippers for the perfect start.
A cool courtyard garden and pool are shaded by trees; take a dip then find a spot to sip a glass of Périgord Bergerac and reflect on life in the slow lane. Pick up truffles and confit at the Friday market in Brantôme, visit châteaux and gardens, canoe on the river. Christophe will have a delicious dinner ready when you return.
