The Experience
Walk in to a large, terracotta floored living room with a huge open fireplace, antique furniture and French doors on either side, one set leading to the shared courtyard and the other to the terrace beside your own pool. Here you’ll find outdoor furniture, a good barbecue and comfortable loungers. You’ll feel very private as the terrace is surrounded by trees and shrubs.
The large bedroom is hidden behind the fireplace, overlooks the garden and has doors to another terrace, all yours, clad in wisteria in early summer and a peaceful spot for an early morning cup of tea. Find all the gadgets and basics you need in the kitchen to cook up a storm and you are left a welcome hamper of locally-sourced treats. Up on the mezzanine level you’ll find books in French and English, board games and TV.
The owners are just across the courtyard, there’s a shared indoor games barn with darts and ping-pong and outdoor games area for pétanque.

Location
The neighbourhood
Scenic, peaceful walks start from the door. The nearest village, a nine-minute walk, is Tourtoirac. With the river running through it, the historic Saint-Pierre-ès-Liens Abbey and the ruins of a Benedictine monastery to explore, it's a lovely place to wander to. Keen cyclists will join the Lawrence of Arabia route and there are caves to visit, La Grotte de Tourtoirac on the outskirts.
Introducing
Gary & Suzie
Gary and Suzie live in the main house, a lovely 200-year-old Perigordine farmhouse. They moved here from London where they had full-time jobs but kept chickens and nurtured 'Good Life' dreams. Now they are installed in their rural idyll and love to share it with guests.
