The Experience
This informal hotel is only 20 minutes from Bordeaux, yet feels like a world unto itself. It’s surrounded by fine parkland and there’s plenty to do rain or shine, or retreat to your room for some peace and quiet too.
Choose from gorgeously appointed bedrooms with sitting areas in the former guesthouse, or in unusual safari-style tents with private terraces next to the lake. Relax with a book in the chateau’s downstairs sitting room, watch a film in the delightful little cinema or head to the spa for a treatment. There’s also a small swimming pool and a gym, and in the summer, there are plenty of places to relax outside with live music on the weekends.
You’re spoiled for choice when it comes to eating with the two in-house, well-regarded restaurants. Try fine-dining steakhouse Marguerite or Les Petits Caprices for globally-inspired sharing plates; Les Chais for wine, cheese and charcuterie or the retro cocktail bar, Contre-Jour. Stroll through the woods surrounding the hotel, visit nearby wineries, or drive into Bordeaux for art galleries, museums and shops.

Accommodation
Location
The neighbourhood
The chateau was built in the 18th-century on the outskirts of Bordeaux - which has now become the university district - next to the modern business school. There's a university bus stop that takes you to the town centre or the train station in about an hour. For day trips further afield drive to the wine town of St Émilion in 45 minutes, and in an hour, the stunning coastline bordered by forest and the largest sand dune in Europe, the Dune du Pilat with the seaside town of Arcachon a few minutes further.
Introducing
Millésime Group
The hotel is part of the Millésime Collection of French and Portuguese hotels - a group passionate about restoring old buildings, promoting culture, good food and wine and giving guests a unique and memorable experience.
This place was a real surprise, a delightful one. Picture a gorgeous chateau with exquisite modern/classic decoration and its two fabulous restaurants next to what could almost be a luxury lodge in Kenya...only a few minutes from the centre of Bordeaux. Huge fun just for the experience and filled with a hugely enthusiastic and likeable staff.
