The Experience

There’s a private feel to this light and sunny open-plan cottage with exposed stone walls, a king size bed (plus a child’s bed if needed), robes and slippers and a modern kitchen with a decent coffee machine. French doors lead to a terrace and then the pool area. If you’re stuck indoors you can have a game of snooker or table tennis, work out in the gym, sit under a large covered areas in the courtyard. Friends and family can stay in the main house too if you all come together.

If cooking isn’t your thing then owners Marcus and Cathy have a variety of delicious menus using local produce which can be served inside or out, or ask about the many good restaurants nearby, from traditional French bistros to those with Michelin stars.

You’re five minutes from Beauville for stocking up with basics and Laroque Timbeaut (8 kms) has an excellent market on Thursdays. Return to your tranquil Gatekeeper’s cottage on this lovely 50-acre estate.

This was our second visit to Domaine de Pine and we enjoyed it as much as the first. We stayed in the gatekeepers cottage, which is beautifully furnished and has everything you need for your stay. The owners are incredibly friendly and can’t do enough for you. The property is in a rural setting with beautiful views and is the perfect place to relax. Great facilities, including a gym and a fabulous pool. The food and service is impeccable and we can’t wait to return.

We stayed at Domaine de Pine during July 2017 in the Gatekeepers Cottage with our 2 year old daughter. The grounds of DDP are absolutely beautiful and our little girl spent a lot of time in the swimming pool which is the perfect sun trap during the day. The owners Marcus & Cathy did everything possible to make our stay comfortable and relaxing. We ate at DDP most evenings and a highchair and kid friendly menu was made available for our daughter. The food was absolutely delicious with a vast range of drinks available from the bar. Thank you so much Marcus & Cathy. We will be back next Summer!

We flew out to DPD last summer with our 2 year old daughter. We stayed in the Gatekeepers Cottage. It was absolutely perfect for what we needed, lots of space for our little one and Marcus also provided a travel cot and a highchair which was so useful. We ate most evenings at the house, the BBQ's on the terrace were delicious and the staff were happy to prepare alternative food for our daughter. We will most definitely be returning to DDP this summer and for many summers to come! Thank you!

The neighbourhood

The manor house dates from 1776 and is built in mellow stone with smaller outbuildings around a large stone paved and gravelled area. The feel is very rural as you're surrounded by beautiful countryside, but you're also near to shops, restaurants and daily markets. The pretty town of Agen with its medieval cathedral runs along the river Garonne and is a half hour drive - a Unesco world heritage site.

They're happy to welcome your dog too.
