Sabine and Frédéric are past masters at resuscitating fine old houses and then welcoming guests.  The gracious manoir in its large park behind the church is a place of serene 18th-century elegance, good food, fine furniture and quiet luxury. The curly staircase is glorious. Reclaimed parquet shines, original fireplaces and cupboards stand firm, new beds guarantee total comfort. Super new bathrooms, too, one for each suite, and a long dining table for conviviality: the place is ideal for families, though not suitable for small children. And your hosts know all the region’s secrets, St Emilion is next door… Just ask.

The neighbourhood

Local points of interest from Frédéric & Sabine Henon

  • The Manor belonged to Count Jolly and is a remarkable 18th century property hidden within wooded parkland. It’s a typical longère style house with its central lodge, symmetrical extensions, large terrace, old staircase and an internal courtyard
  • The Manoir and its park is in the heart of a village Puch-d'Agenais in the Agen countryside surrounded by vineyards perched on a hill – it’s a medieval settlement that’s kept its covered market halls of old.
  • The location is near the intersection of the Garonne and Lot valley. It’s a good starting point to discover the area as it’s 3 km from the canal bike-route from Bordeaux to Séte and another that links Aiguillon to Cahors; there are also river cruises.
  • You can set of on many different hiking trails to visit beautiful fortified towns, villages and chateaux - Chateau de Nérac is particularily good.
  • We're close to Marmandais and Buzet vineyards - and you have the opportunity to taste the wines at dinner.
  • A welcome drink! Cocktail: Calibre 9 white wine from Buzet vineyards and lemon juice - served chilled!
