The Experience
Atop a hill, this small château has gazed on untouched countryside since the 14th century. Steeped in history (Henri is full of stories; Madame de Montespan once stayed here), the place is still a working farm: friendly and down-to-earth, Madame manages a herd of Charolais cows. Up the spiral stone stair are big bedrooms with fine furniture and excellent modern bathrooms; breakfast is set before family portraits and a bookcase stocked with leather-bound tomes. Outside: a large garden with orchard and pool; rest in the shade of a lime tree and admire the magnificent view. Wonderfully, authentically French.

What a lovely chateau this is. The accommodation is terrific as are the hosts Christine and Henri. The room was large and airy with a view across the countryside, the bathroom large with all the mod cons. This working farm has a lot of history, characterful outbuildings with interesting and quirky nooks and crannies, set in beautiful rural France.

Our expectations were fully met. The chateau is full of history and renovated to be very comfortable. The mix of modern and antique is excellent. Henri and Christine are excellent hosts and we enjoyed a tour of the property and gained an understanding of many aspects of French history and culture. We invited two friends to join us and had the advantage of having a kitchen to ourselves. There is plenty to do and see in the close proximity. We stayed for 3 nights and longer would have been even more delightful

This is the perfect place to stay for anyone in love with la France profonde. The chateau is perfection as is the hospitality of Henri and Christine. The breakfast was delicious, it set us up perfectly for the day, and we swam a bit of it off in their beautiful pool before visiting the nearby Romanesque abbey at St-Menoux. We enjoyed our stay so much on our drive down to Languedoc that we returned on our way home! We would also recommend the honey they sell and the nearby restaurant , owned by a delightful lady who trained with the Roux brothers.
