Bliss for gastronomes and lovers of stylish, traditional décor with very mod cons - Auvergne's National Parks are a treat too

Passionate about regional gastronomy – do eat with them, it’s a real treat – Véronique and Guillaume quit Paris to pour their talents into this fine neoclassical manor. They’ve done it up to the nines, from the grand entrance with its volcanic stone stair, smart in crisp red, to the big, super-modern bathrooms. Grand, high-ceilinged bedrooms (the suite is vast), are full of light and antique furniture. The woodwork alone is worth a visit, so too is the English gentleman’s room, with its head-high hog-roasting fireplace. Walk into Lezoux, stroll in the park and enjoy the Auvergne’s fabulous National Parks – and cheese.

Excellent stay. The Chamber du Parc was very quiet and comfortable with a wonderfully equipped modern bathroom. The patron even managed to find a bottle of gin for drinks. The dinner was excellent and our hosts charming. Thoroughly recommend.
