The building juts forth like the prow of a cruise liner – lots of glass, lots of light. The sea glitters on three sides, the only sounds are the birds and the gentle whisper of boats sliding past. The house and garden are carved in two – space for you, space for your hosts. Four of the five bedrooms have sea views, all a private terrace, big sliding doors. Outside there’s a plush lawn and heated pool.
When the mist descends, sit in the library with a book or play piano, descend to the little spa for a sauna or massage, take a gastronomic tour of the oyster shacks and Michelin-starred restaurants (five within 19 miles) for net-fresh seafood.
Borrow bikes and kayaks, ask for a picnic and head off on island adventures. Play golf at Baden, watch colourful boats from your window with binoculars, hop aboard the Navette des Îsles or take a daytrip to medieval Vannes. Breakfast is fresh, local, served in the dining room or on your terrace. You can stay in for delicious dinners on Sunday and Monday.
