Kerimel is a handsome group of granite farm buildings in a perfect setting among the fields. Bedrooms are simple with patchwork bedcovers and pale curtains, beams, stone and some fine old furniture. The dining room is cottagey with dried flowers hanging from beams over a wooden table, a fire in the vast stone fireplace, breakfasts from grand-mère that promise an organic treat each day. Nicolas and family are gentle, generous and passionately eco-minded. He presses apple juice and brews beer with homegrown organic oats and hops, spring water from the land and a dash of spice; he’s a dab hand at making crepes too. The standing stones of Carnac are minutes away, beaches, coastal pathways and golf course too. There are five bikes you can rent – join one of the many cycle routes nearby.
