Le Clos is nicely set back from the main road and Beaune is a ten-minute stroll. Built to take guests, the new wing has spanking new bedrooms, modern bits in the bathrooms and a salon overlooking the garden. Fabrics, bedding and antiques reveal Anne as a woman of taste who thinks of everything, even a guest kitchen for your morning spread of homemade jams, cake, croissants, bread, yogurt and fresh fruit. Bruno has a passion for vintage cars, especially if they’re English. Knowledgeable natives and hospitable hosts, they fill you in on the sights, restaurants and vineyards over a welcoming glass of wine.

Bruno & Anne Durand de Gevigney. What a situation; just a 5 minutes’ walk to the centre of Beaune, which is itself, just 20 minutes to stroll across the city. Tremendous bedrooms with bathrooms to die for. Excellent breakfasts and a very helpful hostess. Again, other people staying for the umpteenth time. Present toy of Bruno is an old Aston Martin, drop head, which he uses when it doesn’t rain! 10/10. There is no need to put the word “ter” into their address. TomTom didn’t understand it and showed no such place existed.
