Beaune, Côte-d’Or
Bed & Breakfast

An immaculate conversion of an elegant townhouse, vineyard glimpses, a lush garden and hosts who are passionate about wine and food

If you find yourself in the Mecca of Wine, in the very heart of old Beaune, then surely you should stay with a family of winegrowers like the Bouchards? They are charming people, passionate about food, wine and matters ‘green’; Cécile’s breakfasts linger long in the memory. Immaculate is the conversion of this old townhouse, once three cottages: the craftsmanship of new oak and stone, the quiet good taste of the colours, the space in the comfortable bedrooms, the ultra modern bathrooms. Chill out in the walled, lush, flowered garden (replete with pet rabbit), glimpse the vineyards on the horizon. Outstanding.

We stumbled across 'Les Planchottes' and had the most magnificent stay. The property is stunning and the room was the best we have ever stayed in in France with superb decor and plenty of space. The bed was extremely comfortable and upon arrival we were offered tea and homemade biscuits in the garden which was magical in a town/city environment. Breakfast was stunning and for our meal out we had plenty of recommendations from Cécile choosing a lovely venue fitting our mood and love of food. We would most definitely recommend 'Les Planchottes' and look forward to staying again.

While planning our second trip to France in the fall of 2007 (not today's date but I cannot change the visit date), I came across information for Les Planchottes and made reservations. We stayed for five nights and clearly remember our wonderful stay. Cecile and Christophe are wonderful hosts, beautiful location and delicious breakfasts. Cecil gave us excellent information for restaurant, tours, places to visit, etc. We would stay at Les Planchettes again without hesitation. Thanks for the wonderful memories.

Wonderful place with great hospitality. Cecile was so charming and she and her husband made our stay as pleasurable as enjoyable. Delicious breakfast with homemade jam.

After 1 night with Cécile in her charming home I felt as though I had been on a retreat. She and her home epitomise serenity and I wish we could have spent a week here.

A wonderful place to stay. Welcoming and friendly, high quality accommodation, delicious breakfast using homemade produce, excellent recommendation for dinner in town and - such a surprise - beautiful garden. Just wish we could have stayed longer.

One of the nicest B & Bs We have ever stayed at. Cecile was delightful, knowledgable and extremely helpful. The bedroom was beautiful. Just across the road from Old Beaune and more lovely restaurants than we had time to try. Very secure parking. In fact we rebooked for our return trip a week later. Sadly only two rooms - get your booking in early.

The neighbourhood

Local points of interest from Christophe & Cécile Bouchard

  • The house is a sanctuary of calm, with a large garden with numerous fruit trees. We offer homemade jams, fresh eggs from our hens and flowers from the garden!
  • ‘Les Planchottes’ was the very first B&B to open in the centre of Beaune, in 2011.
  • There are numerous walks from the house which is located less than 10 minutes from the Hôtel Dieu and vineyards.
  • My husband, the ninth generation in a family of winemakers since 1731, will be delighted to share his knowledge on vines, wine, and the history of Beaune.
