The Experience

Pass through suburban hamlet Mâcon to reach this beautifully authentic château – drive through the gates and enter another world. Breakfast on fresh pastries, baguette, jams and fruit in the courtyard with park views, or in your room from a silver service tray – a real treat.

Stay in with a book and a coffee on the couch or stroll through the parkland with its 200-year-old trees, fantastic drawbridge, 11th century chapel and birdsong. Explore the Musée des Ursulines or the Église Saint-Pierre, both ten minutes by car.

Step across the ancient courtyard to dine at the onsite restaurant with a Lyonnais chef or drive ten minutes to Mâcon for more options. Climb the winding stone staircase to your room and finish off with a soak in a roll top tub before bed.

Where do I start! If you want to treat yourself to a luxurious, peaceful stay and travel back in time this is one of the best. I specially loved all the little details and original paintings.
