The Experience

In a green and lovely corner of France, discover the wee hamlet where Annie’s family have always farmed. Here she and Wolfgang, (he worked with NATO and speaks impeccable English), have returned to renovate a highly personal, treasure-filled farmhouse with a cosily simple Petite Maison for guests just across the patio. Having lived all over the world, they adore having visitors at their table in the former cattle byre or in the new veranda – and hope you might park your horses in their field. Before the vast ex-château fireplace, you will be regaled with tales of local life and exotic lands. A fascinating couple.

The tranquility, the hospitality, the cosy and spotless accommodation and the gourmand experience of dinner with the delightful Annie was simply superb. This place is a little piece of heaven on earth, set in the lush green French countryside. A totally restorative break: I cannot recommend it highly enough.

I stayed with Annie & Wolfgang Previously and knew this second time was going to be as brilliant - it was. This time I arrived with a friend on our motorbikes. Annie & Wolfgang, once again, were excellent hosts and it was fantastic to have Wolfgang join us on his own motorbike the next day for a great trip around the outskirts of Limoges. La Pissarelle is set in a pretty and tranquil spot. It’s a great place to relax, or drive to the many nearby places of interest before returning back to some of Annie’s delicious home cooking and then retiring to a very comfy bed. Third trip already booked.

La Pissarelle is delightful, as was our stay with Annie and Wolfgang who are wonderful hosts. The converted barn is very comfortable and set in beautiful countryside in a tiny hamlet. We spent a very enjoyable evening with Annie and Wolfgang, delicious food and great company. Thoroughly recommend staying here.

One of the most pleasant nights of our three-week road trip through the western half of France. Wolfgang and Annie are a charming and interesting couple, besides cooking us a great meal. Lovely accommodation in such a beautiful spot and a gracious welcome, and our little dog fell in love with their puppy! Wolfgang kindly organised an appointment with their vet and came with me the 16km in order to get the necessary tablet and pet passport signed.

Off the beaten track in wonderful countryside, this is a true haven of tranquillity. Rural France at its best - as it has always been. A get-away-from-it-all chance to unwind, get back to nature but with all the comforts and welcoming bonhomie and cosy, comforting and warming care of Wolfgang and Annie. And a great place to start or continue the St Jacques de Compostelle pilgimage.

Our stay with Wolfgang and Annie was very relaxing and fulfilling. The green country of the creuse, peaceful, unspoiled, and such friendly and attentive hosts.. They went out of their way to help in our property searches, and giving specific directions for all our needs. The meals very well done, and our stay in the cottage was so lovely, private with all our needs. Very clean and proper. The cats were a welcome sign of home. Sitting on the patio, taking in the counrtryside with a glass of wine was just what one needed to get away from stress. Highly recommended if you wish to relax.

What a lovely place to stay. You are made very welcome in this delightfully peaceful and beautiful area of Limisousin. There are wonderful walks and scenery to make your heart sing. Annie and Wolfgang are exceptional hosts who love to cook delicious food and look after your every need. My only advice would be is to stay as long as possible. You won't be disappointed!

Hidden away in a secretly beautiful part of central France this is a very friendly & comfortable stop. Annie & Wolfgang are incredibly hospitable & fascinating & their home in this peaceful countryside is delightful. We loved le petit maison where we spent our night. One thing to note is that sat nav is a must.

La Pissarelle is tranquil and set in an idyllic location . As soon as I arrived, I felt immediately at home. Wolfgang is probably the best host I have ever encountered - anywhere! Annie provided fantastic and delicious food. This was a first night stop of our holiday, en-route to the Pyrenees but I could have quite easily spent my entire holiday at La Pissarelle in the wonderful company of Wolfgang & Annie. A fantastic find! I will return...

What a delightful place to stay. The petite maison is extremely comfortable and well-equipped. The food and hospitality were equally good with Jean-Loup (Wolfgang) and Annie such lovely and attentive hosts. They could not have given us a more perfect start to our holiday.

just the kindest people. There was a nip in the air so they lit the woodburning stove in the cottage. The food was lovely and Annie did a picnic for our next day journey. Great value

Wonderfully welcoming hosts, great company, delightful accommodation, fabulous food, all set in a stunningly beautiful area of France. We'd have no hesitation in returning. Not normally prone to such effusion.
