Follow the brass shells in the cobbles to find Carole’s elegant stone town-house opposite the soaring Collégiale. Peace reigns, apart from the tolling of bells and the whistling of swallows. Inside, all is light and airy with tall windows looking out on village views or the little walled garden.
Carole’s enthusiasm for Limousin is evident – walls are hung with local modern artworks, recipes researched from Limousin’s rich gastronomic past and home-cooked ingredients sourced from local farmers. Hand-made chocolates and massepain pillow-treats are from the local shops where you can get small gifts as guests of the B&B.
There’s much to keep you in the village including guided historic tours, walks around the lake (which you can fish with a permit) and an amazing patisserie. Join walking paths through the woods 5 kilometres away or hop in the car to Limoges (half an hour) for museums.
