The
Experience

In a peaceful street overlooking lush meadows, sheltered by old walls and surrounded by trees, is an 1850s maison de maître, a Belle Epoque residence; the first view takes your breath away. Little Toto and Chopin wag their welcome, followed by smiling Pascale. In big bedrooms on the first floor, wood, linen, silk and cotton blend with antique pieces and a luxurious modern feel pervades. Borrow the bikes, visit Sancerre and the cathedral at Bourges, return to a secluded courtyard and a delicious pool. Breakfast, served under the Napoleonic chandelier, is divine: Pascale, warm hostess, is a skilled pastry chef.

Reviews

We first stayed at Les Aubuees 4 years ago. It is now our regular stopping point. All Sawday places are indeed special but this one extra special.

John, Amberley, near arundel

Indeed a very special place to stay. Pascal was everything one could expect from a Sawdays host. The house was beautiful, the bedroom and ensuite calm and stylish. Breakfast was delicious with home baked cake or brioche on the 2 days we were here. Sorry we could not summon the courage to use the lovely pool as the weather was not as hot as hoped. Pascals recommendation for a local restaurant was so good we ate there on both evenings of our stay. Highly recommended.

Peter, Tunbridge wells

Beautiful B&B with very large lavishly decorated bedrooms and enormous bathrooms, fresh flowers in the bedroom was a lovely touch. Breakfast was large and included a home made apple pie to share. Its in a good location and the owner is very friendly. She has two large friendly dogs who want to play with you. We would definitely stay here again.
