The Experience

A spacious luminous house: this 200-year-old barn with wooden chalet extension in the foothills of the Pyrenees feels restorative. Your Montreal and Welsh hosts settle you in to one of five large restful rooms, two have their own verandas, all have huge windows so you can drink in the magical hilltop views. Each bedroom has a neat en suite, big TV, and goose feather duvets on smart mattresses. Breakfast, full English or continental style, and dinner are locally sourced and served on the terrace or in the airy dining room. The large gardens – fruit trees, veg patch, woods – are beautiful. Look out for a wood fired hot tub and sauna; massages and facial treatments available too.

What a wonderful welcoming tranquil place to stay and be pampered for ten days, and what a stunning view from the terrace and our bedroom balcony! Barry and Jocelyn couldn't have looked after our needs better: Beds were good and comfy with goose down duvets and pillows; freshly ground coffee for breakfast; dinners were consistently delicious/imaginative using very carefully chosen locally-sourced produce; walking for all levels in hills/mountains + the opportunity to discover the hidden secrets of Ariege. We did not have enough time and will definitely be returning next year.

A beautiful B & B! It was wonderful to enjoy the beautiful room, the super tasty and delicious breakfast, the cozy setting and the nice chats! Highly recommended and we will definitely be back! Warm greetings mach/rosza

We loved every minute of staying here. The rooms are comfortable, the views are stunning and Jocelyn & Barry are the ultimate hosts. Barry specialises in sourcing the most amazing local food for breakfast and dinner and Jocelyn runs spa treatments. This part of the Ariege is an unknown gem and your hosts will tell you all about the highlights to see. Domaine de Terrac is a must.

“This lovely Chambre d’Hote was a very special find indeed! The views were simply stunning. All the rooms were immaculately clean and very pleasantly decorated. Our hosts, Jocelyn and Barry, went out of their way to make sure our stay was so pleasant, comfortable, and relaxing. The evening meals (when we ate in) and our breakfasts were all scrumptious, and were all sourced - with great pride - from local farms and suppliers. Quaffing a glass or two of local wine, overlooking the valley towards the mountains, sums up what an idyllic holiday is all about.”

This was without doubt the finest b and b we have ever stayed in. The hosts are most generous with superb food using genuine local ingredients. The rooms are wonderfully designed and so relaxing......and the beds beat the 5 star hotels Ive been in And on top of everything the location is very peaceful
