The Experience

Charming and stylish – Franck and Pascale were born to run a B&B. On hand with creative apéritifs and inspired ideas for exploring the Dordogne, they make their home a pleasure to visit. Local artisans helped them transform the 18th-century house into a chic retreat, restoring ancient beams and flagstones. Outside, sage green shutters add a cheery flash of colour to the mellow stone façade and there’s a fruit tree filled garden with a pool. Inside, country décor reigns; four immaculate en suite rooms have pretty linen, oak floors and bucolic views. Locally sourced breakfasts of farm eggs, homemade cake and jams are superb.

We were in France for just under a month and stayed at La Bruyle for 2 nights. It was by far our favourite stay! From the time we arrived Pascale & Franck made sure we had everything we needed and were very helpful in planning our daily activities. If you have the opportunity to join them for dinner you won’t be disappointed. We were treated to a wonderful 4 course French cuisine meal outside on the patio overlooking the beautiful French countryside. It was a truly memorable evening. We can’t speak high enough about our stay here. Thanks Pascale & Franck for a wonderful stay in the Dordogne!

We had 2 stays here-4/07/19 and 8,9,10 July 2019.The house and gardens are lovely. Our hosts were very welcoming ,nothing was too much trouble-and the breakfasts and evening meal were delicious. We were particularly grateful for the invaluable assistance given by Franck when our car battery died a sudden death on the morning of our departure - even driving us to the garage to pick up the car when the problem had been resolved. We enjoyed the swimming pool, the lovely bed linen and towels and would love to return........

One of the best B&B's we've ever stayed in. Beautiful house, tranquil location. Gorgeous bedroom, tastefully furnished.Clearly a great deal of thought has gone into the arrangements, down to providing sheets and optional individual throws for the bed, rather than a too-warm duvet. Pretty garden and wonderful large warm (!) swimming pool. Very welcoming hosts. We very much hope to visit again.

We had a great weekend at La Bruyle. The house is absolutely beautiful with very comfortable rooms and a nice pool. Pascale & Franck are great hosts providing amazing breakfasts in their beautiful garden and plenty of advice for local walks and restaurants.

An absolutely delightful stay at La Bruyle. The old stone house is lovely and well appointed, with many interesting decorative touches. The garden and pool are luxurious and the surrounding areas are beautiful. We didn't want to leave!

The little piece of paradise of Pascale and Franck is added to our favorites list of destinations. Located in enchanting and peaceful area in the Lot Region, La Bruyle is perfect environment to rest & relax, and enjoy the beautiful things of live; the welcoming perfume from the garden flowers, the local licors & wines and not to forget the delicious local food and dishes. No doubt a place to which we will return...

It was beautiful stay at La Bruyle. Really laid back stay with very nice host that are impressive because of job they have both put in order to even have this B&B. They even manage to make themselves yogurts, jams and even some more.. Host are happy to help with suggestions about restaurants and travel in surrounding area. Dinner in house is not to be missed!

Martins, Riga

Pascale and Franck are perfect hosts. They have created a beautiful and inviting home-away-from-home and seem to truly enjoy hosting and engaging with their guests. They had excellent suggestions for daily activities and dinners out. Pascale and Franck offer an amazing and delicious French dinner by prearrangement on certain weekdays...a must-do if you can. We enjoyed our dinner with them so much. Breakfasts are special too, featuring regional and homemade products. The beautiful home and grounds located outside a tiny village is a haven of peace and tranquility. Don't miss a stay here!

We had the largest room with the en suite bathroom. It was lovely. Very spacious with a huge and very comfortable bed. A lovely house entirely, in a most peaceful setting. Our hosts were very friendly and and spoke excellent English. This enabled some interesting discussions including Brexit and Donald Trump. We were very well looked after despite a hospital appointment occurring during our stay for Pascalle. The home made bitter orange aperitif was particularly memorable for me and my husband who normally forego an aperitif in France as they are usually too sweet for us. Theirs was amazing.

We had a memorable four day stay in this quite delightful, carefully and tastefully restored old farmhouse in a rural area with few tourists. I can strongly recommend a stop off here and not just for one night. The breakfast comprises local produce and is charmingly served by your host and hostess, Franck and Pascale. Other features include a quiet and welcome swimming pool which you can enjoy in beautiful quiet surroundings with stunning views. Franck and Pascale could not have been more friendly and helpful. We very much look forward to our next visit

We loved La Bruyle - a great place for a stop over on the way to the South of France.

My husband and I (plus our dog) had a wonderful night at La Bruyle this summer. Our hosts couldn't have been more welcoming, the house is beautiful and cleverly designed and decorated with thoughtful touches and delightful bathrooms. Our evening meal was a delicious dinner party, complete with homemade canapes, local produce and interesting guests. We have vowed to return!

Pippa, London

I stayed here one night with my teenage sons and it was everything we hoped for. We reçeived a really warm welcome, the swimming pool had amazing views, our rooms were pretty and cosy and the breakfast was delicious. Hope to come back and stay longer.

Joanna, Charpont

We spent 4 nights here - it was excellent. Our room was large and immaculate with many restored original features (stone walls, wooden floor, beams, ...) and a great view across the valley. And wonderfully quiet. Breakfast was good with something different each day. Franck & Pascale positively welcome you into their home. So it's their living room you can use. All very relaxed. Dinner (provided on request) is with F&P plus other guests around their dining table, encouraging discussion - a very personal event. And they are so helpful with recommendations on what to do. Wonderful.

Andrew, Tiverton

My partner and I had a fantastic one night stay. We only wished we could have stayed longer. Pascale and Franck are an absolutely delightful couple and marvellous hosts. They have worked tirelessly making La Bruyle not only a beautiful home but a fantastic place for guests. We were blessed with fantastic weather which allowed us to use the very inviting pool and to enjoy the gardens and view. Our room was tastefully furnished and spotlessly clean. Breakfast and dinner outside a total delight, especially having dinner with Pascale and Franck, experiencing their wonderful cooking. Superb.

Maria, Winchester

Lovely BnB. Rooms very spacious and beds big and comfortable. Great lounge-room to relax in and outdoors is very, very nice. Our two dinners with our hosts were delicious, and the conversations even better. Pascale & Frank are wonderful hosts, and their English is much, much better than our French! Beautiful , restored French farmhouse situated in idyllic surrounding countryside. Cultured hosts who make every effort to ensure your stay in their home is comfortable and memorable in every respect .

La Bruyle has been beautifully converted by Pascale and Franck into an elegant, comfortable and tastefully luxurious b&b. With their warm welcome, and "open house" approach you really do feel relaxed and cared for. Many thanks.

Fran, London

Staying with Pascale & Franck was an absolute delight - they are the most wonderful hosts, relaxed and attentive in exactly the right measure. Their breakfasts and table d'hôtes were delicious and their local restaurant recommendations were the best we had in our time in France. The house has been beautifully restored and is an oasis of comfort and calm close to plenty of places of interest. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip.
