Let a bit of 'the good life' rub off on you as you admire the view from the terrace, a glass of something homemade and delicious in hand

Warm country people, the Sellars left Sussex for a small farm in deepest France to run a flock of indigenous milking sheep the natural way: no pesticides, no heavy machines, animals roaming free. Their recipe for a simple rewarding life includes receiving guests happily under the beams, by the wood-burning stove, in pretty-coloured, country-furnished rooms with super walk-in showers. While Julie creates homemade marvels from her farmhouse kitchen – most of what you eat has been harvested from the garden or the farm – you can relax on the terrace with a home - brewed sun-downer and admire it all. A slice of rural bliss.

"For anyone going north from Toulouse for their vacation we can highly recommend the friendly and hospitable accommodation at Tondes. Mark and Julie are very generous hosts, and the location is excellent for exploring Moissac, Cahors, Lauzerte and other historic towns and villages in the area."

"Julie and Mark are so welcoming with the most relaxed, easy, hospitable manner despite the effort of running a busy working farm. The most idyllic spot and we loved the plethora of wild life and a feeling of rural France. Delicious home produced food, Julie is a natural cook...wonderful!"

"I would like to thank Julie and Mark (as well as their friendly pets) for making our 2 night stay very comfortable and welcoming us into their home. Julie is a fantastic cook and kindly cooked a special dinner to meet my husband's dietary requirements. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a homely stay on their holidays in the beautiful Lot Valley."

"We had a fantastic time with Julie and Mark at Tondes. The kids loved being on the farm with milking sheep, geese and chickens. The food, served in the garden, was delicious. Great that sourced from the farm. It's a place you can relax but there's also lots to do in the area, including lovely swimming lakes, fortified towns and vineyards. Very welcoming-Julie and Mark were the perfect hosts. We will definitely return!"

"An excellent chambre d'hôte. Mark and Julie are excellent hosts and the food was brilliantly cooked and plentiful. It was one of the best meals we have had in a long time with most ingredients homegrown. Keep up the good work!"

"Upon entering the gate to Mark and Julie's home, so beautifully located amid undulating landscape, we became as family. We were truly pampered. Our room was very well appointed with every convenience, and the abundant home cooked meals, prepared from natural, healthful and tasty ingredients, were scrumptious....and HUGE! If the Tarn et Garonne is on your itinerary, this is the place to stay."

"This is a fabulous place to stay, we were en route from Barcelona to UK and this was a special treat to get a warm welcome, roaring fire, delicious supper home cooked to perfection. Comfortable beds and delicious breakfast. Our two little boys loved seeing round the farm and thank you to Mark and Julie! We will return I'm sure. "

"We drove many miles out of our way to revisit this comfortable farmhouse - we had memories of such a warm welcome and of Julie's amazing veggie food. We weren't disappointed! Mark and Julie are so friendly, interesting, knowledgeable and generous. The range, quantity and quality of their homegrown and homemade produce is glorious. Rooms are spacious and comfy with great facilities. Experience a working farm firsthand, milk a goat, cuddle their pet dogs, etc. The outlook is beautiful and peaceful; such a warm and relaxing place and hosts who clearly love entertaining their guests and sharing their gorgeous home. "

"Put simply this is the perfect bed and breakfast experience. A working farm; delightful and unpretentious accommodation in spacious, light rooms; lovely hosts who really enjoy having people around; and the best home cooking you could imagine. Everything from the aperatif in the garden to the convivial three course meal on the veranda to the yoghurt and jam at breakfast is made by Julie from the farm's or other local produce. Don't miss! "

"We are a couple from Holland and we come especcially to this place although it is not near the wines we buy in the region of Cahors. Julie is an excellent cook and Mark has a great sense of humour! They have become good friends and we hope to visit them every year! Now in Dutch: fantastisch eten, idillysche tuin, droge Engelse humor, hier moet je zijn!"

"Wonderful hospitable hosts nothing is too much trouble. Excellent food with much of it jams, sauces, bread made from scratch by julie. Yoghurt made with their sheeps milk - wonderful. All this in beautiful countryside, tranquil and picturesque, in a lovely home with the most relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommended!"

"We have stayed several times at this idyllic farm, from en route overnight to 5 days. The welcome is always warm and the rooms delightful. However the crowning glory is the food - mostly home produced, plentiful and superbly cooked. I can honestly say we have never had better food in any B&B, or hotel come to that. Julie is a great an imaginative and fabulous cook and as a retired cookery teacher I am a stern judge. Lovely places to vist around in the heart of France"

"This was one of the best Sawdays we have ever encountered. A warm welcome on a cold night, wonderful home made food and drinks by the fire, Mark and Julie could not have been better hosts. Charming, comfortable rooms, great company...including the dogs! Just to show how considerate these people are - we returned home late on the 2nd night in a terrific gale; due to a power cut we discovered the path from car to our bed had been lit by lanterns. Such kindness. "
