A ‘coup de foudre’ caused Mark and Peter to buy this grand 1930s house in walled gardens, a few minutes’ walk from the market town of Mazamet. Renovation revealed large light interiors of wood-panelled walls, parquet floors and sweeping windows. Furnished with modern elegance, the ground floor invites relaxation in comfy sofas or quiet corners. Bedrooms, with sumptuous beds and fine linen, are calmly luxurious; bathrooms are Art Deco gems. Your hosts are interesting, relaxed and well-travelled, meals in the restaurant are gastronomic. Ideal for Carcassonne, Albi and all those medieval villages.

My wife and I have been travelling through France, and many other countries, for well over fifty years and our four night stay at La Villa de Mazamet constituted one of the highlights of our travels. The conditions in the property itself are probably as good as any four star hotel but the real bonus is the ambience that Mark and Peter create by their attention to detail, the high standard of cuisine and their knowledgeable advice about the surrounding area, particularly on Carcassonne and Albi, the two best known old cities in the vicinity. No praise for this establishment would be too high.

Absolutely fabulous! Elegant surroundings, superb food, gracious hosting - the Villa is clean, plush and beautiful whilst Mark and Peter truely make this a holiday to remember. This is a great base to explore the region and Mark and Peter are very knowledgeable on the area, helping you to get the most out of your stay. From the luxurious beds and linens to the relaxing spa to the peaceful pool, this is a place you will want to return to again and again.
