The
Experience

In the hamlet of Le Douit is a 350-year-old house, rather grand with its own little turret, a delicious piece of Norman history. Linda’s welcome is generous and warm, and her knowledge of World War Two second to none; her father-in-law was a renowned photo journalist and his black and white photos are captivating. There are books, antiques, squishy sofas too, and a kitchen with a big old Aga. Linda loves real food so her suppers and dinners reflect the seasons and you can eat under the old walnut tree in summer. All this, feather quilts, fresh flowers and deep mattresses, and a young garden backed by pastures – enchanting!

Reviews

Many thanks for the incredible hospitality during our stay at your wonderful farmhouse. Sarah and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay -- so much so that since we've left all we've talked about is when we can come back! I've also highly recommended it to my parents and to several work colleagues. I think the food and fascinating history are irresistible temptations! Thank you again for having us to stay at your beautiful home and for the invaluable information on which places to visit.

I know tonight was a LOT of hard work but we could not be more appreciative. Your hospitality was so wonderful. Thank you so much for making this an awesome day...

Dolly

Thank you Linda for such a lovely 2 night stay. We will have very fond memories of our time in Normandy, largely due to your warm hospitality!

Cara

We wanted to thank you for making us so welcome in your home and to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay with you. We had a really good nights sleep in the big comfy bed and really appreciated the way you made us so welcome. We thought that the meal was absolutely delicious, as you could tell from our very clean plates, and the breakfast set us up well for the day. Suffice to say we really enjoyed the whole experience, including talking to you and to finding out about your fascinating family history.

Le Petit Ruisseau is a gem, hidden away in the beautiful Normandy countryside. The tranquil setting for this 17th Century property demands you leave the rat race behind in favour of what life's really about, contentment and enjoyment. The owner, Linda, is a fabulous host - genuine, kind, helpful - nothing is too much trouble. And to cap it all she's a truly amazing cook. Her evening meals must be sampled by those who stay at Le Petit Ruiseeau. What's more, Linda is very knowledgeable of the area having lived in France for a number of years. Thank you, Linda. We hope to see you again soon.

We just wanted to say thank you so much for making our stay with you so enjoyable. I replicated your wonderful dinner for the family who declared it awesome!! The icing on the cake was seeing your photographs.

Le petit ruisseau is a home away from home! A little gem tucked away in the Norman countryside, so peaceful and quiet in a beautiful green scenery. Linda does her utmost to make her guests feel comfortable. Lovely decorated rooms, delicious meals, romantic decor to have breakfast and dinner in. Le petit ruisseau is ideally located to visit all the D-Day landmarks, but Linda will also direct you to some other hidden away gems in the neighbourhood. In short: we couldn't have made a better chocice and will always treasure our sweet memories of a memorable stay!

Marja

A lovely overnight say here. Linda made us feel very welcome at this old Norman farmhouse., with lots of history inside. The evening meal was a homemade Norman feast that was simply superb, we are already looking forward to our next visit.
