Les Larry

St Quentin de Blavou, Orne
Bed & Breakfast

Lose yourself in deep Normandy countryside, at this 19th-century farmhouse with a friendly hostess and incredible views. Great value!

2 rooms

Rooms sleep 1 – 2

Just beyond the village of St Quentin de Blavou, this 19th-century farmhouse has long sweeping views across the valley and Norman countryside. Isobel is a bubbly Englishwoman who settled here in 2004; her Shetland and Connemara ponies keep her busy – she teaches, too – but she’s still a hands-on hostess. The cosy double has a sloping roof and beams; use the second room, where the bed doubles as a divan, as your sitting room – or sit and chat with Isobel in hers. In fine weather you can breakfast on the terrace and drink in the view. Head out to the countryside for biking and hiking – the peace is divine!

Been here before and as always very relaxing . Good for visits to lovely places like Alencon. Will be back

Well what a find, you could not ask for more. A superb location with a view to die for, I just wished I had taken my field scope for watching the local nature, especially the bird life. Isobel was on hand for all our requirements, that English touch which you just don't get from an French B&B. Cleanliness in all aspect of the accommodation. We have stay around this area several time using local hotels and well they were not worth the money. Home from home.

What a find! Off the beaten track but fairly easy to get to. Absolutely stunning view. Several charming towns, such as Mortagne-au-Perche just a short drive away and Alençon within easy reach. Rural France at its very best.

A very nice place to stay. A little difficult to find but well worth it. It is in a lovely place with huge views. Very comfortable bed with separate lounge with coffee making facilities. Separate bathroom with super bath. Isabel is a delight and she gave us a really super breakfast. We thoroughly recommend Les Larrys and hope to stay with Isabel again.

Local points of interest from Isobel Jagger

  • The house is situated in the Parc Naturel Régional du Perche. The Maison du Parc at Corboyer offers information on the area, a tea room and country walks with nature notes. See Percheron horses in their native area, the Perche.
  • Small medieval towns nearby include Belleme and Mortagne au Perche. Guides are available to read as you walk around them and both have lively markets. Mortagne au Perche is famous for its boudin, a type of black pudding, and hosts a festival every year.
  • Nearby L'Aigle has an interesting museums showing its industrial history as well as a large market. Travel through the forest and see the monastery at Soligny la Trappe.
  • St Céneri le Gérei, one of the 'most beautiful villages in France' is a short drive away through the magnificent Forest of Perseigne.
  • Wildlife is plentiful, and there are many woodland walks in the local forests. Bring your binoculars!
  • La chapelle Montligeon is a surprise when you drive through the forest to Longny au Perche.,
