The Experience

A really wonderful house, bursting with history and beautiful architecture. Bénédicte is warm, engaging and a delight to stay with, opening her home and also the impressive grounds in an informal, relaxed way. Light floods in to a rich red dining room with oak parquet floor and picture windows overlooking lawns and river; the salon is calming and has equally fine views; upstairs are lofty-ceilinged bedrooms with Persian rugs and family antiques. Breakfast is round the large table: freshly-squeezed orange juice, local cheeses, bread from the local bakery, homemade cakes and jams. Energetic walks abound – or just stroll the parkland.

Reviews

Benedicte is an Anglophile and a charming hostess who welcomed us into her delightful home on arrival. Our room was perfect, peaceful and overlooking immaculate grounds. Nothing is too much trouble-breakfast a delight and Benedicte happy to recommend nearby restaurants and make reservations. To complete the picture Joy is the very friendly house dog.

Henry, Camelford

A perfect and most comfortable stay. The manoir is glorious and in an idyllic setting where you can roam at your leisure. Benedicte is charming and the complete host. Nothing was too much trouble and the breakfast was delicious. Our bedroom was beautiful and spacious with lovely views over the garden. This is one of the finest Sawday’s recommended b&b properties we have stayed in over the many years we have been visiting France…..and their calvados is extremely good!
