The Experience

Gaze from your glamorous bedroom onto the French Riviera. Legendary playground of the rich and famous, one of its jewels is the Villa Rothschild – a ten-minute drive.

This colourful, comfortable, 1930s villa stands high above beautiful Villefranche, yet the harbour is an easy stroll (15 minutes down, 20 minutes up!). Tucked into a bay between Cap-Ferrat and the Cap de Nice, Villefranche flies under the radar. Make the most of its closeness to Nice: hop on the train or stride the coastal path (4km). Recover over cocktails at Nice’s legendary Negresco, or follow the rollerbladers on the Promenade des Anglais… the most romantic seafront in France.

Return to jet swims in the pool, dinners by the barbecue, and gold bannister’d stairs to bedrooms above. There are three in the main house, and a private apartment in the garden, with an elevated terrace smothered in bougainvillea.

Reviews

This house is so bright, and a great place for a real indoor-outdoor experience on the Riviera, secluded from the tourists but with easy access to Eze, Nice, Monaco and the sandy beaches of Villefranche.

Location

The neighbourhood

You're on a steep hill above the wonderful (less-famous) resort Villefranche. Discover four beaches, 28 restaurants, fishermen and their catch, a farmers' market, an Old Town to wander, a fort to tour, and lots of snazzy yachts. Rent a boat to see the bay and explore Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat. What's more, up high, close to the villa, are shops, a supermarket and the much-loved Brasserie du Col.

Local points of interest from Molly Arrighi

  • A jewel of a restaurant 5 minutes walk from the villa
  • You can walk to the Fort Alban with specatular views of Villefranche
  • Live like a local in a real neighbohood, not touristy
  • farmers market Wednesdays and Saturdays, best roast chickens and cheese stand
  • rent a boat at the Villefranche harbor to see the coast
  • Public transport is easy and you are in Nice or Eze village in 10 minutes

Introducing

Molly Arrighi

The owners fell in love with Villefranche and bought Villa Alexandra in 2021. They live in Lyon but plan to retire to the Côte D'Azur. Delightful Molly, who lives locally, is your meeter and greeter, and knows the area inside out. She will arrange everything you desire, from babysitters to private chefs.
