The Experience

Charming, elegant and stylish, this irresistible hillside retreat up a quiet country lane is perfectly located for a mix of restful days around the impressive pool and jaunts to nearby Aix and the surrounding towns. Inside is an attractive mix of old and new: tiled floors, a well-equipped kitchen, carefully chosen antiques contrasting with bold red walls and modern art, strategically placed lamps and coffee tables piled with books. Bedrooms are in white and muted tones, with splashes of colour in paintings and traditional patterned French linen. Bathrooms are smart and fresh. Cook together in the kitchen or BBQ outside, whittle the evening away around the large dining table, then sink into sofas in front of the fire. There’s table football and table tennis, and plenty of room outside for kids to burn off energy. Gardeners are in for a treat, too: olive trees, lilac, lavender, wisteria, roses, flowering cherries and fruit trees are all here. Nip into Aix (ten minutes) for shops and restaurants, or be at the coast in under an hour. The Luberon, Avignon, Marseille and Orange are all within striking distance.

A beautiful house in a secluded setting but still within reach of the centre of Aix. We were a family group with my children and grandchildren and the house was ideal with the pool and garden. The house is beautifully finished and well equipped and clearly the home of the owners. We had a wonderful relaxing holiday and the house was ideal for our group.

A beautiful property with everything you could want including a pool and a play room which the kids loved.. Had a lovely holiday with two small children and grandparents.

Ruth, London

We had a truly wonderful family holiday at L'Armoise in Aix. The large house itself is a delight with every comfort and convenience. Our 2 young girls especially enjoyed the private pool in the lovely gardens and their wonderful bedrooms too. The house is completely private with a large garden to explore, but is only a short drive into the charming town of Aix. We think it was our best holiday in France out of very many chosen from Sawdays. Thank you to Claire and Thierry for trusting us with their beautiful house. We hope to visit again one day.

Wonderful time in this wonderful place. Incredibly close to Aix en provence center but in wonderful peaceful environment. Property fully equipped and amazing time with friends and kids.
