The Experience

As a mountain and travel guide, Hervé is the ultimate host regaling you with travel stories or his guitar and songs. Isabelle, wonderfully warm and friendly too, adds her art, interior design and cooking talents. Their 15th-century Provençal mas incorporates all their passions and talents, especially ‘travel’. Visiting the bedrooms is like taking a world tour from Bolivia and Peru to Vietnam and the Himalayas. Buddhas beneath giant old beams, handsome tribesmen by a superb fireplace, Isabelle’s art, Hervé’s travel photos… Discover atmospheric Camargue, its wild white horses, black bulls, myriad birds and salt pans; hike and climb with Hervé; borrow bikes, and don’t miss Roman Arles. Return to plunge in the little pool, dine on Isabelle’s delicious cooking and retire to a glorious big bedroom.

We really enjoyed our visit to Le Mas Montredon. There were 7 of us in our party and we were thoroughly looked after and nothing was too much trouble. Both nights that we stayed Isabelle cooked for us which was so delicious and so appreciated. We enjoyed not having to drive to find somewhere to eat and yet by day we were located brilliantly in the Carmargue and within minutes of leaving Le Mas Montredon were looking at the wild horses, the flamingoes and the bulls. WE are also big fans of Arles which is only 9 km away. Another time we might even try to bike there!!

A tranquil and welcoming haven in glorious countryside. Beautifully designed with comfort and fascinating touches from the host's travels. Amazing attention to detail. Very comfortable beds and beautifully proportioned rooms. Guitar, games, books, comfy sofas & outside seating. So easy to just BE in this place because of the special touches everywhere. Thoughtful and warmest most welcoming of hosts, Herve and Isabelle couldn't be more helpful. Breakfast was incredible, with home made preserves, compote and cake etc. Highly recommend dinner - Isabelle is a fantastic cook!
