The
Experience

The olive groves, lavender fields and chalky hillsides of Les Baux are a dream of a setting for this Provence-style hotel, roofed with reclaimed terracotta, sheltered by cypress and oleander. The hotel reflects owner Isabelle’s passion for sustainable tourism, she is a respected contributor to the local economy and every detail has been carefully considered: food from local producers, local artisan furniture, painted and waxed walls, homemade tiles round the fabulous pool (it has a gentle slope for little ones and a hot tub). Furnishings are fresh, local, designed for deep comfort. Bedrooms are gorgeously coloured, country-style with an elegant twist, some have their own grassy sitting area, the suite has a private patio, the road is discreet. Filled with flowers in the summer, the bright and cosy living-room has a rustic fireplace. The Achards love to provide guests and their children with the best and that includes a superb well-being and massage room, delicious lunches by the pool, electric bikes for the hills. One of the crème de la crème of Provence’s ‘hotels au naturel’ – near oh-so-pretty Les Baux.

Local points of interest from Emmanuel & Isabelle Achard

  • The hotel is an olive oil producer. Of course you can taste the olive oil at the restaurant but we advise you to do the olive mill visit and olive oil tasting every tuesday and thursday morning at Moulin Castelas in les Baux de Provence. Ask the reception.
  • Les Baux de Provence is famous for its medieval castle but also for the audiovisual show in Carrières de Lumières. Everyday, the show is projected on the immense walls and floor of the quarries dug out over the years to extract limestone. Astonishing!
  • The hotel invites you to discover the natural protected Park of les Alpilles with all the following outdoor activities: biking, hiking, horse-riding, climbing, ...the reception will make all the bookings for you. Electric bikes are available from the hotel
  • Enjoy the Provençal markets in les Alpilles and above all do not miss the Wednesday morning market in St Rémy de Provence. We also love markets in Maussane on thursday and Eygalières on Friday.
  • Enjoy the Provençal cooking class outside in the garden of the hotel among the olive trees! Available every wednesday, saturday and sunday for groups to 2 to 6 people upon reservation at reception.
  • We are truly engaged in an environmental approach and a green tourism, in collaboration with “Alpilles Natural Regional Park” (“Accueil du Parc naturel régional des Alpilles “) and “Natural Hotels” (“Hôtels au Naturel”).
