The Experience

Set up the barbecue, take dinner under the pergola and absorb the panorama; it swoops south to the Massif des Maures and ends in the Mediterranean. This spacious, secluded, 18th-century house, its thick walls oblivious to summer’s heat, stands in eight acres at the top of a long track.

There’s masses of space to spread out in two sitting rooms, two terraces, and a summer kitchen so it couldn’t be better for families and those wishing to escape the hubbub. You’ll find peaceful walks among the terraced olives and pines.

Enjoy the hinterland of the Var: the market comes on Tuesdays to medieval Lorgues (5km). Take a coffee in the town’s dappled shade; stop off for wines at Château Les Crostes. And if you fancy a day on the beaches, head off for the Riviera; lovely St Maxime and Fréjus are less than an hour away.

Reviews

Thank you Trikia for a most super stay at Bastide Oleander, our stay was awesome in every way. I much appreciated your prompt response to any questions I had. The house is quite a special place. The location is wonderfully quiet and remote, it suited us perfectly. It was a special family reunion which worked wonderfully. The kitchen is extremely well equipped. The outside space works for the long leisurely meals. The pool is great for the necessary cool downs. I would highly recommend a local restaurant Chez Bruno for your introduction to truffles. Many Thanks once again, Jane

Bastide Oleander is beautiful - impeccably kept and so well equipped. Probably one of the most comfortable holiday houses we have ever stayed in. Trikia was so helpful before we arrived and during our stay - no query was too much trouble! We had a wonderful fortnight and enjoyed exploring the Var/Haute Provence - we just wished we could have gone slightly later to see the amazing lavender fields which were only just coming into bloom whilst we were there.

We have such fond memories of our two weeks at Bastide Oleander last year. What a fabulous property which is tastefully furnished throughout and is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. Every bedroom is delightful, comfortable and with a beautiful view. The pool is wonderful and the outside terrace and barbecue is perfect for dining with ample shade. Thanks to Trikia and Crispin again for providing us with a perfect venue and setting for our holiday with family and friends.

Elspeth, Perthshire

From the moment we booked, communication with Trikia was superb. She was so friendly and super helpful when our stay had to be rearranged multiple times due to COVID. Bastide Oleander is a beautiful property in a stunning location and we had a fantastic stay with family members spanning three generations. The house is beautifully decorated, extremely well equipped and the pool area and outside kitchen are amazing. There’s plenty to do in the area if you can drag yourself away from the house. Thank you Trikia & Crispin for a wonderful stay. We will certainly be back! Sandie

We have just returned from an idyllic two weeks in this beautiful house. Situated in quiet countryside surrounded by olive trees and vineyards this is the perfect location for a luxurious relaxing holiday. The house is Provençal in style with many beautiful features. The indoor area is spacious but the outdoor area is fantastic with plenty of space to relax in or out of the shade. Super base to explore the wonderful countryside or coast. Plenty of wonderful restaurants and vineyards to visit within easy driving distance. Best of all is the amazing view which rather makes you just stay put.

Thank you Trikia and Crispin for a wonderful stay at Bastide Oleander. This place is so idyllic, relax in beautiful surroundings with all you need inside and out. The kitchen has everything you could need and more. Such great attention to detail is really appreciated. The kids were wonderfully catered for with an abundance of games. We found a tortoise on the path by the house! You hardly want to leave for a day trip but we did spend a day at Saint Maxine beach and had amazing ice creams! We also perused the gorgeous shops and cafes in the pretty village of Cotignac.

Sophie, Exeter

This wonderful holiday home has it all! Long views over the Provençal hills south towards St Tropez, well thought out & spacious accommodation, a lived in character and a situation that inspires you to relax! Great facilities including a good sized pool, rooms that just seem “right”, summer kitchen with barbecue and inviting sitting out areas including a pergola with full sized dining table. We have travelled extensively and stayed in many places but none so complete and relaxing as Bastide Oléander. So much so that we keep coming back year after year!

Andrew, Oakham

It has got to be very, very good for you to want to go back - it is and we did. We were captivated by Trikia and Crispin's wonderful, welcoming and supremely beautiful Bastide in 2016. This time was even better. We instantly relaxed and had a sun drenched fortnight with family and friends and the dog. Rolando and Marlene looked after us so well. Highlight excursion this time was Tourtour - best views ever! We'll be back. Thank you so much.

Chris, Wymondham

We have just returned from the most glorious 2 week family holiday with our families coming from all over Europe, aged from 4 - 80, Bastide Oleander was the perfect house for all of us to relax, sleep, eat, drink and and enjoy the Provençale way of life. Trikia and Crispin were the perfect hosts and you could not ask for a better equipped home, everything has truly been thought of. We filled the house but there is a space for everyone whether swimming, reading quietly or having a raucous laugh round the table! It will be very difficult for us not to return....à la prochaine! :)

Matthew, Jersey

Bastide Oléander is perfection. The setting is stunning. The house is wonderful, equipped with everything one needs for relaxation and family enjoyment.

Lizzie, Huddersfield

Our family had a wonderful week at Bastide Oleander in June. Excellent accommodation, beautiful setting and great service from Trikia and Crispin. The house was spacious, well equipped and beautifully furnished throughout. It was the perfect setting for our family holiday and we will be sure to return!

Sophie, Leeds

We have recently stayed at Bastide Oleander as a family group of ten. The whole holiday was superb and the house is beautifully furnished and every detail has been thought of. The bedrooms are comfortable, the linen is excellent and the house is immaculately clean and well maintained. The pool is perfect and was checked and cleaned during our stay too. The setting is dramatic and the nearby town of Lorgues is fascinating and the Tuesday market is a must. It is like staying in the home of a friend who has provided everything one could possibly wish for.

PETER, BASINGSTOKE

We have just enjoyed a wonderful two-week stay at Bastide Oleander. The house is beautifully appointed, well maintained and afforded excellent space for two couples. Five bedrooms, four bathrooms together with solid floors and walls meant we all enjoyed comfort, privacy and sleep. We spent most of our time enjoying the gorgeous pool and eating outside. The hilltop position afforded wonderful views, 180 degree skies and a lovely breeze that was welcome in the heat of July. We enjoyed the Lorgue market, excellent local restaurants and trips to pretty villages. Trikia and Crispin are lovely too.

Sandra, Banbury

Bastide Oleander lives up to expectations. It is well appointed and has gorgeous white cotton bedlinen in every room. We joked frequently about the well kitted kitchen. We thought we had found them out on a couple of occasions, "what, no ice cream scoop, what, no rolling pin?!" but everything we needed was there if we just looked. The view from the house and garden is just breathtaking and we and our guests rarely wanted to do anything other than relax, eat, drink, dip in the pool and soak up the view. Be prepared for the long rubbly drive to the house: but worth it for the view and seclusion.

Judith, Wymondham, Norfolk

We had a wonderful and very memorable holiday at Bastide Oleander, and are already looking at dates to go back next year! The house is beautiful, the pool and outdoor areas are brilliant and three generations were very comfortably housed in the pretty bedrooms and well equipped kitchen and bathrooms. The surrounding area is beautiful, the coast is an easy drive, there are lovely markets to visit almost every day, special restaurants, and lots to do should you desire to leave the pool, which we hardly did! Really a brilliant holiday, we have no criticisms at all.

Ellie

Bastide Oleander is a beautiful house in a lovely location. The house is superbly well equipped, absolutely everything we needed was to hand. The outside areas and the pool are first rate and the location is quiet and secluded. This part of France is beautiful and we particularly liked the Gorge du Verdon and the pretty villages and towns all within a 50km radius of the house. Our party of eight adults were very comfortable in the property which is beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean and well maintained. We would definitely recommend it.

James

Bastide Oleander was a wonderful house with lots of character and wonderful views! It was the perfect place for our family to get together, with plenty of space, places to eat, great pool & facilities-and only a short distance from Lorgues! We loved it ! We would recommend it!

Melodie

Bastide Oleander is a spacious, magical villa seemingly without neighbours in a marvellous setting with spectacular views. We (8 of us) never ate indoors even once! A first rate pool. It is rare to find such a special holiday rental with quality fixtures and fittings - usually I can't wait to get back to my own bed, not on this holiday. We were lucky enough to meet Triskia and Crispin who were so warm and welcoming - providing personal suggestions from restaurants to shopping! We would recommend this villa and hope we can return as we have such special memories of our family holiday.

Catryn

Bastide Oleander is stunning. If the property has not featured in the pages of an Interiors magazine already then it really ought to! The beautiful french- style decor and attention to detail is outstanding. The setting is charming and our children enjoyed the swimming pool on a daily basis. The most special place we have ever stayed.
