All you hear is the trilling of birds, the splashing of the pool and the hum of the cicadas. The villa lies at the top of the winding road, a sturdy walk up from tiny Correns, with the immense forest at your feet. The garden has wonderful views through old oak trees… and sometimes you’ll hear wild boar at night.
The house, built in 2004, has been impeccably renovated by Aileen and Patrick, who live (with black labrador Max) in the villa’s Provencal tower. All three are delightful, and discreet. Your own space covers two floors, with ample terraces, bedrooms up and down: depending on the size of your group, you can take two bedrooms or all three of them.
It’s an hour’s drive to Aix, and not much further to the Riviera, but you’re deep in the Var here where you can ride horses, rent bikes, climb cliffs, watch birds, catch fish, wild swim and kayak from the beautiful river which cascades through the village.
