This is a lovely house in a beautiful village. Good restaurants in easy walking distance. Elizabeth is a very generous host spoiling us on Easter Day with delicious breakfasts. Great views from every room. Strongly recommend

Alison, Cardiff

We loved staying with Elizabeth, she is so welcoming, thoughtful and kind. I felt very at home in her elegant house. We arrived overheated and somewhat frazzled and were offered tea, cakes and soothing conversation. the town is charming and her location looking out over the hills is stunning. Wonderful place to stay.

Best overall B&B experience of the year. After a disasterous travel day, with lost luggage and a broken down rental car, the owner, Elisabeth, stayed up until near midnight to greet us, and provided quich, salad and wine to help us unwind. Beautiful location, spectacular views of the hillsides from the dining window, large and cozy room, fascinating hilltown, and so much to see and do in the surrounding area. Elizabeths warm residence, hospitality, and area knowledgemake this a recommended B&B.

Ken, Vncouver

Good B and B in a small town with mountain views. Elisabeth the owner could not do enough for us in order to make our stay enjoyable. The room we stayed in was large and airy with a large bathroom and separate toilet. The views from the terrace are definitely worth enjoying with a glass of wine. There is a great Lake nearby which you can swim in etc. and a couple of nice restaurants in the town which are worth visiting within walking distance of the house. Would recommend this B and B.

The neighbourhood

Local points of interest from Elisabeth Chuffart

  • A just two minutes walk up an old pathway from the house, will bring you to the Chapel of St Barthelemy, a donation by Christian Dior to the people of Montauroux. Christian Dior loved the village. His residence , has recently been converted to a museum.
  • The hilltop village of Montauroux is an excellent base from which to explore both the Côte d’Azur, its beautiful hinterland with its perched villages, and many sites of historical and artistic interest.
  • For nature lovers, a trip to the breathtakingly spectacular Gorges du Verdon, considered to be the Grand Canyon of Europe, is not to be missed. The village of Mons, 15 kms uphill from Montauroux is a fine example of Provençal mountain architecture.
  • For sports lovers, hiking trails abound in the area and there are water sports on the Lac de Saint Cassien, some five minutes from the house, as well as the golf resort and spa of Terre Blanche with its magnificent, internationally known course.
  • The city of Nice itself, a mere 40 minutes’ drive away, really repays a visit. It is both dynamic and traditional with a magnificent old quarter full of artistic and architectural treasures, interesting museums. For film lovers, Cannes is a must.
  • Montauroux has a number of good restaurant within walking distance of the house as do all the other villages of the area, if you wish to venture further afield.
