The Experience

In the centre of Avignon, behind an unassuming shop front, a 14th-century convent lovingly renovated by owners Sabine and Patrick. No expense has been spared, from French linen to locally made wrought iron bedheads and sparkling new shower rooms. Exposed stone walls and archways lend character and all rooms have views into the peaceful inner courtyard, the perfect spot for a breakfast of croissants, fruit and hot chocolate. Park nearby for a price or further out for less, or leave the car at home: it’s just five minutes’ walk to shops and restaurants. Go boating on the Rhone, sample the local wines, walk the mountains.

This was a great start to our holiday. The suite we had was beautiful and very comfortable. We loved the little balcony. Patrick produced a fabulous breakfast each morning.
