The
Experience

Among organic vineyards and cherry orchards, with long views to the Lubéron hills, a quiet place to stay at the end of a lane. These 18th-century stone buildings, once a sheepfold and part of a Provençal farm have been restored but haven’t lost their character. There’s a charming simplicity, a soothing, serene mix of country antiques and modern bits and pieces. You have a large kitchen and open-plan sitting room and three peaceful bedrooms (one in an adjoining building) shaded by a trellis of Banksia roses. On hot summer days, relax by the pool or explore the big garden (immaculately kept) – find a spot to sit down and gaze on distant Mont Ventoux. In the evenings, dine on the covered terrace to the chirrup of the cicadas. There’s an outdoor kitchen with chimney and built-in barbecue, too. Owners Anne and Alain (who work in Paris) may, or may not, be in their home next door but somebody from their team will be there to greet you and answer any questions. Beyond: hillside villages to discover, wine tastings to cycle to, and Bonnieux with its galleries, restaurants and Friday market.

Local points of interest from Anne & Alain Faure
