The
Experience

Imagine a tiny Provencal village with a sun-dappled café-bar, an excellent auberge, a ruined castle, and a square off which lies Maison Noel. Enchanting, historic, and partially shaded by an old lime tree, it is the home of a charming and well-travelled hostess. The heart of the house is downstairs (open fireplace, country kitchen), the décor is stylish and soothing, and you can spill into a heavenly garden for supper (borrow the barbecue!). A perfect springboard for Provence, with a capacious bed to come home to and your own secluded patio. Artists and romantics will not want to stir.

Reviews

Trish is so warm and welcoming you will feel as though you belong straight away. Comfortable stylish rooms with oodles of Frenchness. Tranquil garden and interesting and quaint village surroundings, with walks and vineyards, plenty of cycling opportunities and masses to see and visit within easy reach. We love it!

an English lady who was very knowledgeable about the area had an enjoyable time watching football with the locals in the village. Food for breakfast was very extensive and fresh. Very local places to eat.

Stunning position in a beautiful unspoilt village. Charming house with very pretty garden and the most helpful, generous hosts possible making us welcome from the moment we arrived. I would definitely recommend Maison Noel and would be so happy to return.

Fiona

Trish, friendly and hospitable makes you feel welcome and at home. Lagnes is wonderfully situated to explore this beautiful part of France. Rooms comfortable and spacious.

Paul, St francis bay

Maison Noel is a beautiful Provencal home in the centre of Lagnes - a perfect village. Trish is a wonderful host and we loved the stylishly furnished house and garden. We enjoyed exploring the village and you can walk to the local cafe, boulangerie and village restaurants. Lagnes is also perfectly positioned to visit Avignon, Gordes and L'Isle sur la Sorgue and lots of other Luberon villages.. A perfect base for a Provencal break.

Trish the owner is so lovely she makes everyone feel so welcome. The atmosphere here is just so friendly and the house seems to give you a massive hug. A wonderful place to use as a base to explore the wonderful countryside and villages dotted here, there and everywhere. Just fabulous x

From the minute we stepped through the archway into the garden, we loved every minute. Beautiful rooms, delicious breakfasts, wonderful host, doesn't get much better!

Local points of interest from Trish Michie

  • Less than 10 minutes from the famous town of L'isle sur la Sorgue, known as the antique capital of Provence and also known as Little Venice. Markets held Thursday and Sunday mornings.
  • Gordes, the most photographed perched village in the Luberon lies less than 20 minutes drive. Soak up the Provencal countryside on your drive to Gordes, and then take in other well known perched villages. Bonnieux, Lacoste, Rousillion, Goult and Menerbes.
  • Fancy kayaking down the river Sorgue. Only 10 minutes from Maison Noel is the source of the river and the delightful village of Fontaine de Vaucluse.
  • Provence is full of local markets and every day of the week there is a market in villages surrounding Lagnes.
  • The cultural cities of Avignon and Aix en Provence are both located within the hour. Or explore the Coast, Marseille, the Calanques and the picturesque port of Cassis are just over an hour away.
  • Numerous local domaines offering wine tasting and excellent wines. The famous village of Chateauneuf de Pape is under the hour.
